We have to be realistic in that Kerby, he mught not ever be the same Kerbyā¦and Branch, heās probably not coming back until half this season is done and heās probably not going to come back and be the same player either.
I think our Safeties are going to be Izien and Harper as the starters for at least the first half of the season. Thatās not a good thing.
Totally forgot bout the comp pick deadline ā its the Monday after the draft which looks like April 27. In my dreams, we have a contract in place with Cam Jordan dated April 27, heās doing Dan a solid because he likes him from Danās NO days, right? Weād keep our 6th (Amik), and possible 7th (AQM).
I wouldnāt be surpised if weāre done until after the draft.
Mays and Borom might be in the early stages of a prime of career take off. Pacheco is better health away from being a solid thumper #2. Izien is replacement starter level at two positions. McCreary isnāt a massive downgrade in the slot for a fraction of the price.
This is a really solid moneyball FA. What I find amusing is we talk about FA going this way due to cap constraints. We do it for months. It is the consensus view. And then when it is realized we become dejected.
McCreary stabilizes the CB room. Young and experienced. Rock was actually a HUGE keep for us. Dude played well last season. Arnold, Reed, Rock as outside guys and McCreary as Nicole, Rakestraw as an excellent wildcard. Whiteside is a great #6. Dude showed up when we needed him.
izien is a hell if a Branch replacement. The Bucs had a numbers game but this cat can play. His athletic numbers are really good. Maybe better than Branch. I am also excited about Dan Jackson. Dirty Dan. I LOVED that pick in 2025.
Harper showed something in 2025. He is young and now has experience. The draft likely gives one more option there.
I donāt love the safety group but I donāt hate it now either.
I like every one of these guys. For the most part they are young, still ascending and cheap. Mays was the best value, Borom was a very shrewd move, and donāt forget about the DMont trade, its unreal that we got a 4th for him. Izien and Pacheco are Rutgers guys who are tough nosed ballers.
Maybe we still do something with Maddox, but Izien makes that move non-essential. Harper, and even Thomas flashed as well. But weāre talking number 50-53 guys on the roster now which can churn all year.
By letting AQM go, Brad seems to have to do SOMETHING with DE. So, Jordan, Bosa or Clowney are in play, but would love to see us wait until after the draft for any one of them.
Iād love to agree with you but this is also the staff and front office that thought bringing back Davenport would solve their issues at end. Iām not going to believe Kirby is healthy and ready to go until I see it on the field.
Living in South Florida, die hard Phins-Fans. Is that better than analytics & Jman vibes?
Or you could ask Bears fans, he was there for 4 year as well. What do they say??
Iām just being realistic - if we are viewing this as Skipper replacement then GOOD. If we are viewing this as the dude for OT for us⦠be prepared to be very disappointed.
In a sense. Unfortunately he wasnāt a consistent player down to down. His impact was more in a handful of games. Still better than anything else we had sadly. You knew it was bad when they had McNeil playing on the edge.
Rakestraw has shown zero, zip, zilch in 2 years, thats what he is until he proves otherwise.
Our CBās will be ok I think, the Safeties are going to be our Achilles (pun intended).
Oh I agree, thatās why I included the āpartā qualifier. He was never supposed to be an early down option. But the point is they relied on two options everyone hated beforehand, but they got one right. They can get the other right too.
