You could sell me on a plan to trade up for Parker if 2027 capital wasn’t touched.
I think I’d rather have Moore from MIchigan, regardless of draft capital
I think I’ve been pounding the table on Moore as a fit here since like February so I’m totally on board with waiting.
I just think there is a scenario in which Parker was simply in a slump of sorts. There isn’t a lot to threaten the Edge but the long arm is a legit feature weapon from which he can stem counters from. He also goes for the football. One of those guys that has instincts for the game flipping strip sack.
And then the floor is like Daryl Tapp. Still useful. He’s not going to be a massive bust. But I think a dirty work 8 sack guy is in the realm of reasonable outcomes for Parker.
I’ll take Moore or Parker, just give me DE!!!
What I’m going to find hilarious is that Brad is about to have this straight forward draft, addressing our two big needs with culture and stylistic appropriate solutions and the moaning will immediately switch from, “Someone stop heat check, Brad!” to “Boring draft! Brad lost his Edge!”
Treydan Stukes might be the oldest player in the draft. Exceptional athlete when he’s not injured and is a CB who can play S not the other way around.
It makes sense, but also…what else is he going to say. You think he’d tell us if it was otherwise
Really curious to see what direction we go today. Edge rusher seems like the obvious choice. TJ Parker might be a home run at 50. But also some LBs could be there. Some nickel backs and safeties. Some really good NTs.
This exactly. Everything about this.
Let him hit homeruns next year. This year just get the necessary solid player the restocks our pantry.
The pick felt a little to me like “not what we wanted but what we need”. Sort of like Williams last year. Probably doesn’t do justice to Blake who is pretty hard to nitpick. He’s athletic, wired right, lots of experience. What Cosell said is my big concern i.e. when he loses, he loses bad. That is what it looked like to me and I’m going to guess that is why a four year starter at RT never played LT. We have a great OLine coach though and you can’t really get a better athlete to work with
Heat check away on Day 3. One could argue that given how deep our roster is that divergent outcomes style lottery tickets are the right strategy round 5 on.
LWK, a run on DT’s and DB’s early in the 2nd is prolly our most ideal if we looking at LB or DE rn
I think Zion is a plug and play fit for what the Lions want in a DE. I think he could fall to 50 because I don’t think he will appeal to all teams as he does to the Lions. Other teams might be looking for more pass rush upside. As long as guys like Christen Miller, Ponds and Hood are still available I would not trade up for anyone. I’d be happy with any of them but I’m not sure Brad has the patience.
The McCoy status reminds me of the Miles Jack draft where you have potentially a top 5-10 pick who’s draft stock is dropping because of a significant injury.
Miles went 36th in a stronger draft class and I could see McCoy going in a similar range today.
Good call
Myles Jack / Will Johnson
From what I heard on McCoy is that his ACL is fine and he has fully recovered. The issue is a pin or something that was installed in a previous surgery did not work right and at some point will have to be removed and inserted properly. If and when that happens it will cost him an entire season.
Plenty of talent out there as mentioned, but a hard NO for me on McCoy. Our injury luck sucks as it is and we have too many immediate needs. Nothing against the young man, but he’s not the best decision for us.
I would take Young in a heartbeat if he is there at 50
Can only hope
