say i love you even when you’re mad at them.

Saying I’m sorry is love by those who love poorly.

So never forget, it’s OK to say I’m sorry.

Love you all Den brothers. And I’m sorry. For all of us flawed yet connected beings.

Hey all,

George’s brother, Mike, has agreed to share the following …

… My name is Mike Ketchman, George’s twin brother. Sadly, the news is true. George, deadstroke, passed away July 24th. He had a short battle with cancer (small cell lung cancer). He walked into the hospital on a Thursday and passed 8 days later.

I did get on The Den yesterday. I read many of the posts from your members. I didn’t realize what he had met to your community. As I read through over 100 posts, it really touched my heart with all the kind words that so many people had to say about him.

… I am a Lions fan as well, but, not to the extent that he was. it would be fitting for them to win a Superbowl this year.

As some of you have inquired, we’ll be sending over a custom DEADSTROKE jersey to Mike. I’ll upload a pic of it by the end of the week in this thread.

I really love this idea. It’s a great honor, and it lets the families know how much we loved and appreciated their loved one. I know this was offered with Bols passing as well, but I, and I am sure many of us, would gladly contribute any sort of help for the custom jersey.

That part blows my mind. 8 days? Hug your loved ones every day. You might not get another chance.

As his twin brother said let’s win the super bowl for George.

While I always appreciated Deadstrokes cap acumen that was really the small part of who he was here. He was never antagonistic. He responded calmly and with respect all the time. When a poster asked a question concerning salary cap rules or player contracts he was always willing to respond with his best answer. Truly a kind and respectful human being. Prayers for comfort and healing for his family as they grieve his loss. He will be missed

Maybe we could print these threads out, and send them to families?

100%. Everyone is passionate and we do our research and feel like we know a lot about a topic. Sometime there were arguments. Yet somehow he patiently worked through any issues, and left no question as to his expertise.

Beyond this though, Mike thank you for sharing what you wish. It is nice for us to know about this person many of us only knew by handle but appreciated immensely.

Ugh, small cell lung cancer is awful. A lot of patients don’t even get the chance to try chemo before they pass. Poor George.

I only talked to @DeadStroke a couple of times but he was very respectful and kind to me both times.

I will miss him.

Cancer sucks. I look forward to the human race vanquishing it during my lifetime.

I’m very hopeful that oncolytic viral treatments really take off in the next decade or two. That’s personally how I think it can be done.

You would know the specifics better than I. But my friends/acquaintances that are in HC and life sciences are pretty optimistic over a time horizon of the next quarter century or so.

Absolutely shitty news. Deadstroke was a legend on the Den. My sincerest condolences to his family.
