Well, that’s a buzz kill.

Can we admitt there is no salary cap. Cough , cough saints, 49ers

Thats why its not a Buzz kill we are doing ok its when you push huge amounts down the line example what Browns are doing with there QB 2024 he is at 64 million on cap. One player

Sutton only cost 3.3mil against the cap this year. When you factor he knocks the lowest paid guy off the top 51, we used only used about 2.5mil in additional cap space to land him. We also have easy restructures with Ragnow and Decker available to us. We also have potential savings with a Vaitai, Harris, or Romeo cut/pay cut.

We are far from down at this point.

12.6 under the cap is fine.

We have restructure candidates.

Come June 1 , Charles Harris gets us 6 mil Big V gets us 9 mil if we out right release them.

That’s an easy 15

Trim some fat like Stenberg , Cephus, etc there’s money to be there

Besides I think Reynolds and Raymond each make $3mil base salary…seems like easy reups and tack on some more years

Saints have lost a ton of guys today. Kaden Ellis, Onyematta, Davenport, and Tuttle. So have the Eagles. Salary cap is easily manipulated, but eventually it catches up with you.

This may be true but what are you gonna do? Wait till after June 1st to sign a couple big FAs?

If you spend right up until the cap you can free that space later for draft picks, practice squad and in season moves.

Nah that’s for our rookies bruh

My point, but saint’s have been over for years.

The Saints will not field a team capable of winning a playoff game for 5+ more years because of it. They have to put band aids everywhere and can’t afford to sign their own premier FAs.

That’s why I was surprised they went after Carr… it’s like they are going for mediocrity. Just tank on purpose!!

tank GIF

Horrible move by them, but I guess the GM is trying to save face. They can win that division this year with Carr. They will get smoked in the playoffs, though.

Fair point, that division is wide open. I think the Panthers might take it.

But isnt that what we want for a starting point?

Yea division titles are nice I guess, but personally I want playoff wins, that’s all that really matters IMO. Like the Bucs won their division last year with a losing record and promptly got embarrassed on their own field in round 1.

@DeadStroke where did you find the details of Anzalone’s deal?

True, but 1st step is being the north winner with a home playoff game, and just maybe we can bite our nails and shit our paints during half time because we did it. Feel like we are stud lb away from reaching that, but we still got pink eye from a anal zone.
