Who’s going to introduce Dan to sunblock and Kleenex for that beak of his?
Sam Williams added to the Lions team. Really talented kid but has some skeletons in his closet. Getting to know him could prove to be an advantage.
His oncologist
Danny Gray doing Danny Gray things. These small school CBs are freaks. Super long and fast all three of them (with these MPH readings).
Sam Williams had a good season but breaking down his stats his numbers excelled vs lesser competition.
6.5 sacks in 8 SEC games is nothing t sneeze at. He’s always appeared to be a bit of a freak athlete when I watched him but he may have a lot of refining to do as a pass rusher.
He good
He had 2 sacks vs 4 ranked teams.
So the SEC is not a high enough bar for you?
Fwiw he had a sack against both Alabama and Florida in 2020.
Sorry, it was 2 sacks vs 5 ranked teams, not 4. Two against Tenn that was 7-6, SEC but not a great team. Look, I don’t think he sucks I just think there is context to his numbers.
He had a sack against the best team he played in each of the last two years
You’re grasping at straws here.
I am? You’re the one drawing the arbitrary line in the sand with ranked teams. The SEC is a plenty high enough of a competition level. On a conference to conference base it’s the highest that exists.
2 sacks vs 7-6 Miss St, 2 sacks vs 7-6 Tenn, that’s 4 of your 6 SEC sacks. 2 sacks vs Appalachian St., c’mon man you think that “a” sack vs Alabama carries more weight?
I think you’re getting way more granular with your level of competition requirements than most teams will. 8 games against the SEC will be seen as a good way to gauge his level. It’s not like he played in The Sun Belt. The particulars matter as well of course. I didn’t watch the Egg Bowl but how he looked when he went against Charles Cross might move the needle a bit…
Look, 8 games vs the SEC and 4 of his 6 sacks came against teams that didn’t have winning conference records. 2 sacks vs Liberty, Appalachian St, Tenn and Miss St, 8 of 12.5 vs teams that simply weren’t that good. Tulane? I don’t hate the guy but he’s not good enough to take at the top of the 2nd and will likely be gone at the first of the third.
You think he goes before the third round? I mean I guess I can see the guy working out really well and moving up but I thought of him more as a late day 2 early day three type.
