Sherrone Moore to serve self-imposed two game suspension

What I find most frustrating with this process is that all of the violations are related to how the staff responded to the violation rather than the violation itself

Advanced scouting is a level 2 violation. Whether Stalions was a lone wolf or whether a few others had a good idea what he was doing, it was level 2

All the level 1s related to Harbaugh and others and how they took an aggressive stance against the NCAA

Meanwhile you have Bill Self with actual real big boy cheating and all of their violations were knocked down to level 2 because they “cooperated” (whatever that means)

It is like an armed robbery getting knocked down to a misdemeanor while shoplifter gets elevated to a felony only due to the level of cooperation they shared with the prosecutor’s office.

Not that Harbaugh or Minter or Clinkscale are ever coming back to college, but giving any of them a show cause is absurd and disproportionate.

NCAA is a clownshow.

Thankfully, this whole thing is finally winding down. No one outside of East Lansing or Columbus actually thinks much more than has already happened will come down.

You know kansas forfeited games

They used an ineligible player

Yeah but you said they didn’t do nothing to self. Clearly they did

I said all of their violations were knocked down to Level 2. Not sure why you are planting your flag on this hill.

There is no hill. Like i said already if Michigan didn’t lie or cover things up this probably isnt a issue.

He found out the NCAA was investigating Stallions and deleted non-incriminating texts between he and Stallions…is there really anyone claiming he didn’t delete the texts?

Exactly, this was always over blown by a couple of fan bases obsessed with explaining away their losses. This became a vendetta because Harbaugh’s stance against the NCAA has been F you, I’m not playing your game.

The violation happened, but the violation has always been made into something it wasn’t. What’s the NCAA going to do, take scholarships? Great, this is the NIL era, they don’t need a scholarship. Vacate wins? Go ahead, but I watched Ohio State lose. You can’t “undo” games. Are they going to hit Harbaugh with another show cause? Good, he doesn’t give a shit and has no plans to fight them. We are witnessing the last gasps of an irrelevant organization.

Are you saying you don’t think advanced scouting is that big of an issue? To admit that now is pretty rich.

No im talking about the recruiting volitations. CS is still up in the air.

But only Michigan’s fans have the right perspective here :joy:

I mean look, you and I both know the NCAA hates, more than anything, when institutions lie or obstruct their investigation. It doesn’t have to be a vendetta. Its just very serious to them, and it reflects very poorly on the program. The Michigan will have how many coaches under show cause now? How many years in a row has a Michigan coach been suspended now for rules violations ? Three? The NCAA is probably looking at this exactly as you say “they are saying F you to us”. They think they can just keep breaking the rules. It certainly looks to me that an awful lot of coaches have been punished already and at what point is this just plain a lack of institutional control? Nobody gives a F about the NCAA. Okay, lets see how that works for you. Maybe you are right, but don’t be surprised if you are wrong.

Moore handed over the text messages. A total of 57 texts over two years. Not a single one of them incriminating and you’re saying a punishment is justified? I can spot a lynch mob when I see one. They can sit him if they want, it’s not like that helped you guys, but if I’m Warde Manual I wouldn’t have done it. The NCAA couldn’t have a worse court record, but Warde is going to Warde.

If they were under show cause for serious violations, I would agree with you. They are not. If Harbaugh had slapped his wife instead of buying a couple burgers maybe he’d have Buckeye nation on his side in this.

I may be mistaken but I thought he deleted the whole thread and then turned them over after they had already obtained the digital imaging. I admit to not being an expert on this subject. I only recall flat denials from every direction about CS and general noncooperation. And maybe some deleted text threads. Is this an invitation to repost all the data from back then? That seems arduous.

You only know what Michigan has leaked in their response. How do you know this is just about the texts? Moore is one of eleven coaches in the NCAA notice of allegations. You are complaining about the AD even doing that and honestly that is probably the best case outcome for Michigan. Plus lets not forget he was also suspended in 2023 for a game. Repeat offender.

He voluntarily gave them the phone. I’m sure that is what the university wanted and he was still employed there. But the stink of trying to obstruct the investigation doesn’t go away. He had already been through an NCAA investigation once already. And then you have the whole Connor Stallions situation - how he was allowed to pull hard drives and dump them in the pond or whatever. Its not clear, but I doubt he handed his phone over. The lack of institutional control on this whole thing is pretty bad. The coaches had to know. And we already know how they act, they tried lying about the last thing they did wrong and refused to cooperate. At least their leader did.

It has been reported. You can’t just get your info from Eleven Warriors.

Dan Wetzel:

“Sherrone Moore’s going to miss two games because he deleted it. If he hadn’t—there’s nothing incriminating in the text thread—but it was deemed a failure to comply, or that was the allegation.”

I don’t think it’s me who’s going to be disappointed.

I expect Sherrone Moore will either get more games tacked on, or the NCAA will choose different games. They will slap Harbaugh with some ridiculous amount of years for a show cause. They may hit them with scholarships, but I don’t think that has any impact anymore. They won’t touch the national championship, they already called it legit.

Maybe they will vacate the first 3 Ohio State losses. That would make you feel better probably…but we would all know.

Of course you don’t…maybe they’ll put Michigan on double-secret probation since they are already on probation for level one violations, and refusing to cooperate/lying.

Yes, because the Rich Eisen show is so much better, lol. Michigan may claim its just about the texts. We don’t know what the NCAA thinks.

I think they reduce the roster size instead of hitting them with scholarships. And I think a playoff ban is on the table. Like I said, they are already on probation and this was all going on while they were in the middle of investigating the first one. I’ll agree that the NCAA is toothless if you are right. Because Michigan is just daring the NCAA to punish them at this point. The entire attitude they’ve conveyed is pretty combative. I mean no wonder the University President is on the way out. Harbaugh won’t cooperate - twice. N Stallions was allowed to destroy or hide evidence in the bottom of a pond in Ann Arbor probably. Moore is now on his second suspension and Michigan promoted him knowing he deleted the texts.

This is honestly one of the best takes I’ve seen from someone who doesn’t like UM. A lot of truth here.

Easiest thing would have been for Harbaugh to cooperate. He was already pissed off over the incongruities in pay-for-play, and then when NCAA came around about some hamburgers he bought when Texas spent a quarter million recruiting Arch.

That was the straw that broke his back
