Crazy.
I think he had zero counts with three balls.
And not many foul balls.
That was as dominant as I’ve seen in a pitcher since…Bob Gibson? Vida Blue?
For me:
Trammaker
Kaline
McLain
Skubal
Gibson
Horton
Verlander
McAuliffe
Morris

Damn, I almost like your list more than mine.
I love the Tigers so much dude…my whole life.
Great players listed.
I’m not sure I could give my favorites as there are so many from each decade.
Aurelio,
John Hiller
Ron Leflore
Lemon
Parrish
Whitaker/Trammell
Jason Thompson
Petry
Morris
third starter I can’t recall
Inge
Higginson
D Palmer
Bonderman, even without a changeup
Miggy
Verlander
…and I have to go put the steaks on…

wilcox?
haha, good one!
Its tough, but the tiebreakers for me are WS performances. SO I guess Lolich should be up there too. Parrish. Willie hernandez.
I was afraid I wasn’t going to be able to use it again. But voilà 20 minutes later…

You had Walt Terrell also.
Do you remember the perfect game he almost threw? 26 up and 26 down…then gave up a single.
Wilcox was the one.
Aurelio Lopez
Larry Herndon
Rusty Staub
Johnny Wockenfuss
Darryl Evans

Aurelio Lopez
I had to look that one up. I thougt you were mistaking him for Aurelio Rodriguez (3B). But sure enough, '79 - '85 Aurelio Lopez, Senior Smoke, was a Tiger.

Haha it’s completely different brother. I forgive you…those gummies will get you!
Verlander doing that 9 different times is wild. I thought Randy Johnson would have… But nope.
Skubal’s 103 mph fastball was the fastest pitch thrown by a starting pitcher in the ninth inning or later since pitch tracking began in 2008

I think the more the Tigers win the more Skubal will probably come back on his end. No way they let another cy young pitcher walk away. If they do i could see tickets not being sold and that hurts your pockets CI.
That crap about “there’s no way that Detroit makes him the highest paid pitcher” is objectively false.
They have the money and the desire (at least Scott Harris does) to get it done.
The problems here are Scott Boras and maybe Chris Illitch.
But he’s not wrong… there’s zero chance Scott Boras lets him sign a long term deal with Detroit before he goes into free agency.
The thing is, Boras works for Skubal and if he wants to sign with the Tigers, he needs to get it done. Most of the time, going to FA is the best move for a player, that’s why they do it so often, but at the end of the day, it’s the player steering the agent, not the other way around.
I do think the upcoming CBA is going to impact this more than anything else.
