Smoke or fire - NFL draft rumors/chatter thread

So, firstly, it’s the OL’s job to get the DL to “cooperate”…

This is the first clear shot in that video that gives us a good look at his hands and how he’s punching the DL. You see how wide he is? And how wide his elbows are? It works at the college level because he’s just that big and the threshold for holding is usually lower, but if he goes up against a Jalen Carter type, he’s getting ragdolled between that hand placement and his lack of leverage at this point in pass pro.

There’s also times when he’s engaged with the DL and moving around that his feet get WAY closer and way higher off the ground than they should. I think the push and pull move is going to kill him at the next level if he doesn’t get that fixed.

I’m still a big fan of his, and I think he’ll be a solid pro, but I agree with @QBHATER90 when he says he’s just not a fit for what we ask our guards to do. There’s some really good clips in that video where he does everything correctly, but in a ~10 minute highlight tape, you’d like to see those style of plays more consistently.

You can get him in the early 3rd…wouldn’t want him in the first like you said.

Donovan Jackson could get us chicanery too

+265 to go round 1

Just trade with Giants so they can get Milroe

Id prefer Fairchild probably get him Day 3

Or are they trying to get Raiders to move up

Like Sean Payton did the Vikings
He wanted Nix the entire time

Yeah but that was all behind-the-scenes dealing we heard about after the fact. Or while it was happening. This is too blatant for that.

Besides, why wouldn’t they trade Etienne? Last year of his deal, he hasn’t been great. Honestly I’ve been expecting it all off-season.

Jeanty makes sense. By far their #1 objective should be reestablishing Twevvah AA elite.

Pretty sure it was this same week /day the rumblings started

Ok Giants select Carter at #3 and then trade us #34 and Thibs for #28 and a future 4th

We’re not trading for no-work-ethic Thibs.

We put paper in his shoes and light it

If the defender turns and gives you his shoulder and “gets skinny” you can’t get hands to the chest and you adjust your base to keep him in front of you. In your screen shot I can’t see his hands or the distance between he and the defender. If he is already engaged with his hands on the defender, judging by his posture I would say that defender is about to be pancaked. If there is space between he and the defender I would agree Booker is in a poor position and overextending.

Some rumors I’ve seen today. Derrick Harmon has been flagged for some medical stuff… potentially falling in the draft a bit. Also, sounds like cowboys really like Simmons.

Automatic first down?

Loss of down for the defense

Do you think it’s Harmon his draft stock?

That’s a very good pun! Kudos to you on that one.

I just saw Renner and Long talking about Harmon. They said don’t believe the projections of him going to Pittsburgh or Baltimore because he will be long gone before those teams pick. No mention of injury though.

Yeah he’s going too high, sigh.

The injury stuff is solely based on an interview with Bryan Broaddus, a Dallas beat reporter (also says Alfred Collins is hurt). Seems like he’s pretty respected, and of course Rick Gosselin used to the GOAT when it came to getting bona fide draft info (and his mocks were the best), so maybe Broaddus has some of the same connections? I don’t know.

Also, according to Breer teams are expecting Jihaad Campbell to start the year on the pup list.

Does that make him a faller? I was certain a bunch of teams up too high would be all over him making him unrealistic, but maybe he isn’t? Because I have trouble believing we don’t love him. I’ve heard as much.
