That’s the thing they weren’t just good players, they were making game changing plays. Kerby has absolutely owned the Packers for example in his career. Game ending interceptions. Pick 6’s. God we are going to miss him if he can’t continue to play.

I think some of it may be that Kerby is just a fun loving optimistic dude but he sure isn’t acting like somebody whose career is ■■■■■■.

If I were him I wouldn’t be. I’d be obsessed with getting back to that 2024 level and making a legacy for myself as an all time great safety. I would assume most high end NFL guys are wired that way.

He definitely had high expectations for himself. Of course this was before the knee issues.
“One thing I always tell myself is I’m chasing a gold jacket,” Joseph said. “I always tell the boys, ‘What do you want your legacy to be?’ Every time I’m out there, I’m just showing on tape this is who I am and this is who I’m going to be.”
Only time will tell. We will probably know quite a bit by late August. I think he absolutely needs to play some snaps in the pre-season to test the knee out. We can’t just rest him and expect he’s gonna be fine week 1.

Both he and Alim signed at the perfect time for them personally while Branch and LaPorta had rotten luck getting injured before they got their new contracts. I guess it kind of evened out for the team in the end financially although LaPorta was never getting the Alim contract.

Need one or two defensive linemen to come out of nowhere and become game changers pressuring the QB and cleaning up Hutch’s pressures. Is it likely? Probably not. But Alim could be one of those guys if he’s 100% back from the knee. He was a long way from back last year though. So we can’t really count on it. Tyleik had an okay rookie season. He’d have to make a really big jump in year 2. Derrick Moore? Would be fantastic but a complete unknown if his game can translate to big time edge threat out of the gate. Wonnum? Levi? Tyre West? Peyton Turner? Skyler Gill-Howard? Might be pipe dreaming. But it could gel. Fact is we had two special safeties, now we don’t. Thats a big void and Brad is going to need to unearth new gems in the draft in order to compensate. Mediocrity beckons in the NFL. It’s like gravity- always pulling any team that’s standing still, back down.

That’s the interesting thing about the nfl. You never know who is going to have a breakout year or a down season. Alim should be closer to 100% than he was at any point last season. Tylek will also be better with experience. The talent is there. The prices just need to fit together. Which is unfortunately easier said than done.

We also need some good luck for once. Sure we are going to have injuries but how about like a league average amount of injuries instead of shattering injury records every season.
