Stafford to play tomorrow.....why?

Stafford is the QB, he isnt the one that should be making the decisions. Someone in charge needs to make him sit in the best interest of the organization.

He wants to play and it’s the last game of the season, what are you gonna do?

I’ll say this right now. I guarantee that they win tomorrow. They always seem to save their best for the last meaningless game.

Does he run/own the team? Is he not ultimately an employee who has to do what he’s told? If he get’s to call his own shot like this, then this org will forever be a dumpster fire…a real org would take control of this and see the big picture.

It’s all risk and zero reward for the team.

He’s medically cleared to play and he wants to play. The team isn’t going to function like tank hungry fans and sit him against his wishes if he can play.

Trust me, I want then to lose tomorrow and was hoping that he wouldn’t play but they aren’t going to sit him just because…

Heart, guts, and your wife taking to social media to subtly call out your teammates for not giving their all. Call it what you want. The last ride of Matt Stafford and the Regulators. Possibly.

He’s going to finish. That’s what leaders do.

It’s not even about tanking…there’s no reason to subject him to more NFL hits if he truly is an asset/still the future QB of the team. Maybe he’ll be fine, but know how to guarantee he doesnt break his back for the 3rd time in his career? Dont play him.

Whatever, if he goes down and get’s crumpled up like beer can at a frat party tomorrow playing for no reason other than ā€œreasonsā€, I dont want to hear one fan who’s good with him playing turn around and flame the team and bitch about him playing.

Should the Vikings not play Cousins because he could break his back?

Stafford is medically cleared to play, he wants to play so they’re playing him. I’m not crazy about it either and I get your perspective but I understand why they’re playing him.

Stafford is following the draft order lions pick now . This is the time Stafford actually get a good competition

I wouldn’t be so sure. Minnesota picks ahead of us if they lose. They would be 12th, we would be 14th. I see us winning. (EDIT - we would pick 12th, they would pick 13th, if all other favored teams win).

You know, with the Lions cap situation next year he might be able to leverage an extension, and if he can pull out a win tomorrow, the Lions will have a much more difficult time finding his replacement at pick 12 than pick 5. If you want the ultimate cynic perspective…

The fact that we aren’t going to the playoffs is only new news to some people. For others we knew from game 1 and watched anyways. Why would that suddenly change?

The odds are we’ll suck slightly less next year if we lose tomorrow. I care about that. Please lose, Lions!

We’re still going to lose tomorrow

12 and 14? We’re like 7th now. Either way, I have faith in the worst defense EVER.

To improve his trade value?
To tick off the Stafford haters?
To ruin our draft position?

Take your pick.

Or maybe it’s because he’s your starter, he’s paid to play and he wants to play?

Bevell is gonna play to win because he has something to prove and that’s what your supposed to do as a HC.

If we win then we win. But I think it’s sends the wrong message to your players if you deliberately try to tank. You play to win … always.

So shortsighted.

I couldn’t care less about one meaningless win. The goal is to hang some kind of banner, not win a meaningless game. Losing today helps us more than a win does.

Ginna throw 2 picks tomorrow, book it.

Now it may not be his fault, as we have Larry Moe and Curly running routes at this point, mind you.

But yeah, I think it ends ugly.

Only fans think this way and it’s a losing mentality.

Watch what Herm has to say about it.
