Stafford to play tomorrow.....why?

And maybe Herm would have had more success as a coach if he took the long view. But that’s not the coaches job, that’s on the GM and we don’t even have one of those right now.

I’d watch. I’m a Lions fan not a single Lions player fan

What???

There is probably a dozen or so players that might be out of football next year. This is their last chance to put something on tape to get a job next year. We already saw what happened with Chase Daniels, no one is putting anything good on tape if he’s out there.

Yeah - 14! Its depressing if we win this one, faling seven slots with all the tie breakers. Minny will be only too happy to pick ahead of us. (EDIT: Sorry - wrong calculations. I beleive we can do no worse than 12, and Minny would pick 13…still). Last year was an exception, but the three times before last year that we’ve played a menaingless game against a division rival on the last day of the season – we won. I expect that SOL trend to continue. Wish I had as much faith as you do. As soon as I saw Dalvin Cook being out, it just confirmed that Minny is a smarter franchise than this dumpster fire.

PS - I know the players and coaches want to win - as it should be. And when I watch them, I can’t not cheer for them to do well…they are my team. However, a smart team would be EXTRA-cautious on injuries for a meaningless game, meaning, you talk to your doctors - you triple test “are you sure Matt’s OK, I think you ought to look at him again”! “Are you sure Ragnow is healed, ahem, thats the wrong answer.” This stuff goes on. But apparently not here! SOL.

P.S.again: During his weekly Wednesday news conference, Vikings coach Mike Zimmer declined to say whether he has made a decision to rest starters in Week 17. (Yup, I wouldn’t broadcast it either— we’re’ winning this game".

It’s pretty simple actually…Competitive fire and he’s the starting QB for the team!!!

Even if we beat Minnesota, they will draft below us. It’s Strength of Schedule (SOS) that determines it. There are only four different opponents, we played Wsh/Arz where Minnesota Dal/Sea. Washington and Arizona have 14 wins, Dallas and Seattle have 17 Wins, so even if Washington and Arizona win and Dallas and Seattle lose, it’ll be 17 wins to 16 wins and Minnesota will have a tougher SOS.

Thanks, DS - you are right, my cache wasn’t cleared on the draft predictor tool. this is at least one good thing if we win.

It’s the last time we’ll see our team on the field for nearly another year.

Yeah, weird.

Game 1 is the only game I watched in whole this year. A smattering of quarters and halves is all I could tolerate the rest of the season. The playoff possibility threads never struck me as an actual consideration for watching, but evidently they were.

Lol so Stafford shouldn’t have a say, but you fans should and the organization should act as what fans think. Well is that what the good organization do . Lol

That’s the difference in a professional and a bunch of whinning fans. And there thinking is why they are professionals and fans thinking is why they are not.

Who said fans should have a say? Ownership/management should make decisions based on the best interest of the organization.

So? Lions aren’t a charity, they are a business. These factors shouldn’t come into play.

LMAO. I don’t care IF we had the #1 pick in the draft, and you grab GOAT of the draft, The Lions are not going anywhere in 2021. WE are waiting on a GM hire…then a HC hire that may rebuild the team.
we are nowhere close to make a powerful run at the playoffs- at this time.

so Stafford isn’t “ruining” anything. and hell new management might move us down anyway
and nobody bitches when any other QB plays their final games of the season, but if OUR QB does it’s : “meaningless” , stupid , the sky is falling we’re going to lose draft position , “stat padford” BS , you name it, but it’s a f -up.

And to simplify it more everyone here says we suck at drafting anyways…

So we will screw it up regardless of draft position

Yeah, he kinda has to play now after Kelly took to Twitter again.

A Stafford hater should love that he’s playing…if he get’s further injured in a meaningless game, there’s a better chance they draft his replacement.

If you’re a Stafford supporter and want him as your QB for the future, you shouldnt want to risk him going out and taking more NFL hits at 33 years old, with a bad thumb, ribs, and ankle, and in a meaningless game…but whatver floats yer boat!

I want to see the Vikings win 49-42. Stafford 28-33 , 450 yards 5 TDs

The irony is that the “whining fans” have historically been more right about this team than this hapless organization has.
