Played like a stud no one moved him back when I isolated him on all 22. I watched about 15 of his plays.
Great hand work most of the time he pushed his guy back one yard standing him up.
Then when ball carrier is about 2 yards away he will disengage by pulling one arm down a chopping the other it’s really quick move.
He is on on everything between the tackles and I do mean everything on those run.
A few pass rushes ( I only seen a few) he did push his guy back 6 yards got his hands up reader got nothing otherwise love wouldn’t have slid to the side a little.
He did a push and pull and beat his guy and was pulled down by his arm ol from Green Bay grabbed his arm as he was getting by him.
This was right in front of the ref really blatant.
When him and Alim can play next to each other, no one will be able to run on us. I mean no one. We might not get flame-throwing pressure from in there, but we WILL have consistent pocket push. The vision is pretty clear, even if it might take us a while - and some health, for once - to get there.
Would5 he and Alim be a run defense downgrade from the current Tyleik and D.J. early down setup. It would still be great and a much better overall setup of course.
I think it would be very comparable, with the difference being they can stay in on 3rd down - if we wanted - and give us much more juice. I like what Reader brings too, I was just thinking of our long-term plan.
We are stout against the run in the middle. But zero interior pass rushing pressure. In fact the Packers doubled the edges a lot and let Williams and Reader have 1 on 1’s inside on passing plays.
Was really surprised Wingo was inactive. We need some interior pass rush juice. No Alim and Levi inside sucks
Yeah Reader’s never gonna really affect the passer beyond pushing the pocket. Tyleik will get there, but it will probably take time like it did with Alim.
It’s concerning cause if the qb has little pressure up the middle, pretty easy to step into throws and avoid the guys coming off the edges. We did send a lot of blitzes, but we couldn’t get home. Hope that changes
Wingo will help. Healthy Alim will help. Nascar packages will help. Levi was meant to help too. The Packers know us well and used our current makeup due to injuries/inexperience against us expertly. They also lost two starters since last week, so the Commies were going up against a couple of backups and thus looked better. We’ll get it sorted.
Yep we’re 4 deep at NT , but Holmes doesn’t seem to respect the importance of a pass rush, all he did at the 3t was bring back Levi and DE he went with Davenport with no one behind him. Both guys have bad injury concerns. How does a GM of his caliber put his team in a mess like this. Not to mention the Oline condition. How do you low ball Zeitler when losing Rags, depending on Glasgow and rookies.
And Brad scares me , Dan if it’s not working Dan’s admits to it and he will change it in a hurry, Brad seems more stuck in his ways without willing to change.
Fair points. But we did sign Levi back. We didn’t expect him to miss the whole season. It was a massive loss. Cause he played well last year. I agree on the edge position though. Not deep enough.
On paper we had Wingo and Levi at 3 tech…. With Alim returning around thanksgiving. Instead we had none of them last Sunday. Having your best three 3 tech’s injured is brutal.
