Sure, bring in a ā€œvetā€ but give Altmyer ever meaningful rep you can, because he seems to fit the offense and could probably hold down the fort if Goff missed a bit of time.

Well, that isnā€™t terrible as far as options go.

Altmyer has his work cut out for him now. I hope he outperforms Dobbs to the point where they canā€™t risk exposing him to the waiver wire. If Dobbs is clearly much better, theyā€™ll have to try and sneak Luke to the practice squad.

$475k isnā€™t nothing, but itā€™s not something alone that will push Altmyer off the 53 if he ups his game.

Iā€™d rather have Dobbs or Jimmy G than Bridgewater. Iā€™m satisfied with the Dobbs signing. I believe we upgraded our QB2 position actually. Need to keep Goff healthy.

Rather have Jimmy G, yes. Dobbs cant run this passing offense. IMO.

For the live of chesseburgers, can we draft a QB in rd 2 or 3 next year so I dont have to sweat every hit out on Goff long term?

Or invest $7m a year and get A Real Actual Guy.

I donā€™t love Dobbs either but we have a great supporting cast and a great offensive coordinator. We definitely need to get a developmental guy who can be competitive if asked to play.

Iā€™m not a fan of spending 2nd and 3rd rounders on planned backupsā€¦ At the expense of players like Ratledge/Moore/TeSlaa/Kerby/McNeilā€¦ I get why people think that way, but the chances of getting a QB, needing him to start, and him having a better winning percentage than someone like Kyle Allen (whoā€™s making less than $2 million/season) is in incredibly lowā€¦ Gimme the former starting QBs like Winston or Davis Mills
