That GUY

To be fair I also started being a loud mouth about Samders and Hyatt when they weren’t really talked about and shut my pie hole once their hype train got its own inertia.

I still do like both although they are likely going to be specialists more so than well rounded players.

I almost put Jalin Hyatt down as The Guy (if we lose Chark).

I will give O’Cyrus Torrence a mention.

Over 1,000 snaps without giving up a sack and only 1 qb hit. I remember when Ragnow came out and he had a similar stat and I found that amazing. He also had a penalty free year last season.

With that said run blocking is supposed to be his strong suit. Him and Sewell next to each other would be unbelievable.

If he is somehow there with our 2nd round pick I’m jumping all over that.

Is an over-allocation of resources to one position group a concern of yours?

Are you talking pick wise or player wise?

Picks and money. In your scenario are you re-upping Jackson?

Well, he might be the easiest guy to pencil in as a lion. Ya know how you can go to a place and people are talking openly about stuff……it was not a secret that Benton is a lions guy. And that wasn’t bc they had a tell….it was bc national people listening to him talk were going holy shit Dan Campbell is going to LOVE this guy….ya he is going to Detroit. It will be interesting to see what happens. I don’t know what will happen, but we do need a dl lol. I love banks……

I think Gibbs might be better than Bijan……in a Detroit offense.

Yeah I suppose it just comes down to what you’re looking for out of a guy as an evaluator. I definitely want to see the mental and athletic side as well, but to me there’s a strength threshold that has to be me and if it’s not, I have a lot of concerns.

At his current size I don’t think there’s any way he can meet it. He’s gonna have to add mass, maybe a lot of it, and I’m not sure he has the frame for it. I assume, since he’s been training his whole life to be a pro, he would have already been trying to add mass and this is the result. It’s like Devonta Smith and Bryce Young coming out, if those guys couldn’t bulk up at Alabama, then there’s probably no bulking them up. I worry Sanders might be the same (especially since he spent time at Alabama as well).

We still don’t know what we have in Vaitai. Is he healthy? Will he be able to play all season? I wouldnt rely on him. He still could be cut for all we know.

I veiw Glasgow as the backup c/g.

A second round pick is not a big investment money wise.

I would like Jackson back and continue having a great offensive line.

And as good as our line was last year that right guard position was a major hindrance at times.

Yeah, right way to use him, and he’ll still need to add mass. But like you said that kinda makes him a specialist, and for me that reduces the capital I’m willing to spend on him…

I think that’s a little overdone. Yeah, DC and Holmes have a ‘type’ but talent trumps type. Not everyone they’ve drafted are gregiarious eat-footballs-for-breakfast guys. Not by half.

Right. I agree. Ultimately that’s why I’m out on both him and Hyatt at 18. Kancey as well. I do think they can all excel in their within narrowed down roles.

Sure it is. Doesn’t mean it isn’t the case here. He is very talented.

F&ck it. I’m changing my answer.

My guy: (still) Jalen Carter.

Manny Forbes and Tuli Tuipulotu.

I think Tuli is being overlooked being a west coast guy. I watched him play out here in Cali last year and he reminds me so much of another Cali kid - Cam Jordan, who has had one hell of a career in New Orleans.

Forbes just has that thing that Kerby has that you cant teach. He’s just a magnet to the ball and has really high football IQ in that regard. He can read the QB and read the play and goes for it.

Adebawore/Terrell Smith on defense
Tajae Spears/Zavala on offense

I don’t think he needs to add much weight, maybe 5 or 10lbs at most to retain his speed and agilty… He seems lean right now, he has some room for mass. I think 240 is a good size for him, Micah Parsons size.

I like both of them with our first 2nd rounder, I think they are both starters in the NFL.

One I like who I could really see Brad drafting in the 5th round is Andrew Voorhes the G from USC who tore his acl running drills at the combine Then even after the ACL tear he goes in with a brace on his leg with crutches and throws up 38 reps on the bench. More than any other player tested at the combine this year. Brad torn ACL check. Dan no quit and grit check.

Stetson Bennett. Just think he’s underrated. He might not even get drafted which is pretty ridiculous.
