It can be very successful too. But careers are just a lot shorter. I really like watching Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson but I don’t think those guys are playing into their mid 30’s unless they take a lot less hits moving forward.
He seemed younger yesterday.
LJ was a run first QB the first few years. After he got dinged a few times. he started throwing more.
Agreed has improved a lot throwing. Still had a cool 900 yards rushing last year. Which is more than most RB’s in the nfl.
That Ravens offense is lethal
It was one of the knocks I had on him in the draft - always felt he would get older every year in the pros.
laugh it up-until we are forced to search for Goff’s replacement…
My main concern with Goff is that he is now the oldest he had ever been and will be ever older when the season starts
That’s a legitimate concern.
I means he’s getting older by the minute.
We need to find a QB who does age.
How many scrambling out of the pocket, throw on the run qb’s have had long successful careers? Not many.
In recent years there have been more athletic QBs drafted than pure pocket passers but it’s the Pocket Passers types that tend to end up as quality backups long term.
I don’t know if that’s due to injury or factors like pocket awareness, reading defense, accuracy, and ability to grasp an offense. It just seems to me that pocket passers develop those skill sets more than the guy who takes off running and uses his legs all the time.
