The Deep Breath Thread

Well if we can stop with the turnovers I actually feel like we should win.

My brother in Christ, we have the same record as the Giants.

It’s not going to get better.

This team desperately needs to find a way to get pressure on the QB and it’s gotta come from someone other than Hutch. Good QBs like Smith with good WRs are going to kill us. Our DBs right now are awful. We better figure it out. Teams like Baltimore, LA, Minnesota and Dallas will absolutely embarrass us if Glenn doesn’t get his shit together. Getting Moseley back might help. Demoting Jacobs will too.

Yeah I get the small sample size and statistics…
but the point is that they have performed well in the 1st two weeks.

Green Bay had only 224 yards today against ATL.

They didn’t exactly light them up.

Hilarious
One game
3 turnovers …

I thought the offense looked better week 2 than week one.
Run defense has been ok
Pass defense not so much

I’m not just looking at the results….

but more of the strategy or “process”.

AG hasn’t changed much since last year…
and what he did change seems more passive and concerning to me.

Lions defense is allowing 66% completions right now…
and has only 1 sack.

If Kadarius Toney could catch a ball as any pro should……
that completion percentage is 70%.

70%……

How does a team win routinely giving up 70% completion rate???

The sky is not falling. This game was about turnovers and more specifically about two of the three the lions gave up. A 22 yard drive to start the second half off the Montgomery fumble and a pick 6. That is the difference in the game. For a team that typically does not turn the ball over to lose the TO battle 3-0 and have them get 14 points off of turnovers is more than the difference in the game. Did the Lions play poorly, absolutely, however even with that they almost won the game and probably should have at least had a shot if the frigging refs call the blatant hold on hutch and Seattle has to try a FG giving the lions a shot at tying or winning in OT. Turnovers suck, end of story.

Injuries are quite concerning. Otherwise I’m fine. Coaching? Imperfect but issues are being overblown IMO. Goff was fine. We really need some more speed.

Pass defense is concerning as well. Run defense I’m optimistic about but we need to be much better against the pass and we need to work through some potentially problematic injuries.

The David M injury and Big V injury are the two most concerning for me.
Jacobs is another big concern, we need Mosely and it doesn’t sound like he is close.

no deep breath here. week 1 and 2 looked like we’re the exact same team as last year and haven’t learned anything. same coaching mistakes. same horrible coverage. same problems getting dline pressure aside of hutch.

Is it time to start kicking field goals again?

you can use your awesome punter to pin people deep. if you don’t think your defense can stop them, then something is up.

I think Pete Carroll just has MCDCs number, it happens in the NFL. Lets see how the team responds after a tough loss. Hopefully the fans in Ford Field will bring the noise this Sunday.

Two weeks ago the Lions were going to win the division and Brad and Dan were geniuses. After the first loss the draft picks suck, Dan can’t coach and this team has too many questions. Detroit whiplash is the worst whiplash. It’s amusing though.

two weeks ago we thought things would be different than last year. better even. then we watched 2 games so far and they still play tough but make exactly the same mistakes and defensive issues.

I think it’s legit to say that they don’t seem to have learned from their mistakes.

What about after week three? Will it all be solved with a win? Will it be time to fire people? Tune in next week.

DM, Decker, and Moseley are my biggest concerns, not so much of Big V. If Decker gets back, Glasgow goes in ar RG and not much of a loss. JJ played like crap yesterday, hopefully it was just the scheme and they fix it.

I don’t think so. I get it’s the nfl and changes are thin all the time but all those predictions of 11-13 wins shoud really rethink that.
