I never really had a personal relationship with Bols, and I don’t recall interacting much. But I always appreciated how everyone included him and teased him and how he ran with it and contributed to the overall levity and fun of the Den. He will be missed.

Concerned for his family. Do they have an adult child (how many kids did he have?) that can handle the finances and estate planning/decision responsibilities? I’m also thinking about auto subscriptions and bill payments that get deducted automatically from bank accounts and credit cards. I hope they have someone capable of ending autopayments or unneeded deductions from Bol’s financial footprint. Keeping the vultures at bay, for his family’s sake.

He definitely talked about having a son and daughter. And being a grandfather. So I would estimate his children are mid 40’s or so. FYI

He has 9 grand children. I am one of them. I am the second oldest. My brother is the oldest.

Thank you very much. He was the best grandpa in the entire world. He taught me so much especially about baseball. Every good memory I have is with him in it. Did my grandma post on this board to? She was amazing to.

I had amazing grandparents too and even now decades after they’re gone I still talk to them or at least acknowledge their presence when I think they’re watching out over me or I’m doing something I know that we would be doing together or I’m doing something now as a grandpa to 6 and soon to be seven grandkids myself that I think they would be on board with.
Case in point my oldest Grand son and oldest grandchild turned 11 yesterday and had a bowling party. The snack bar in addition to selling snacks sold LED light up grills, so the four of the six kids that were old enough to have them all had flashing teeth throughout the night courtesy of Papa Smooth here.
I have a feeling if I end up 1/3 of the grandpa that Charlie was, I will consider myself a raging success. We’re glad that you’re here and yeah you’ve got a whole Avalanche of Step uncle’s here looking out for you and the rest of your family. We’re really sorry you have to go through this with both your grandparents, but your family your faith and maybe some new friends will help smooth the path a little.

My grandparents on mom’s side were parents for my brother and I for full summer. My dad was going through a ton of medical stuff. I was also named after my grandpa as well.
