Im at work trying to do the same
Im In a Natural Gas Convention trying to keep myself together.
Things like this makes you realize life is too short and sports are really insignificant vs the real problems in the world.
■■■■ cancer!
RIP Bols!

We never met him
But we surely knew him
One of my favorite all time posters. A true legend and will be missed every time I check in to this damn place. Rest in peace my friend.
Not to take anything away from Bols, but I’m sure he would want me to point that @Nate should be proud of his work.
Look at what the fruits of his labor has given to people. Not only people, Lions fans. A truely special bunch of loyal stubborn individuals as @mojofilterx perfectly mentioned today
The best, so many of us could learn great lessons from him about how to treat others. What a gift he had as well, to be able to treat others like that, but also still be fun, funny, etc. A true 1%er type.
In any locker room, I have a feeling he would have got a unanimous vote to be a captain. Here in the Den, I think speak for many saying he was one of our captains
I will miss his banter. He brought light and laughter to every thread he posted in. He will be missed.
The earthly pain is gone. The heavenly peace and glory await you now brother. May God grant your family the peace only he can deliver. You will be missed and your contributions always remembered.
Great point.
This board is literally a part of my life now and have tried to meet members when I travel.
I don’t know what to say. I knew Bols was battling cancer, but I didn’t know how bad it was. He was such a great guy. This is a real gut punch to read when I was just joking around with him yesterday.
We love you Charlie. Thank you for all of the kind words and laughs over the years. The old ladies at Shady Acres will give you a 21 hip-pop salute.
Rest in Peace Bols, you are a good man with high character.
for you and your family.
Please tell her that he made our lives better over the last few years as well. I lost my Dad in 2023, and in a lot of ways, Bols was just like my Dad. Even though they were different people, Bols made me feel like I could still talk to my Dad in a lot of ways.
Awe man. Rest in peace brother. You are a legend.
RIP Bols, you will be missed. Thoughts and prayers for your loved ones.
@StormGuyNovi and all.
I have texted a link to Bols wife to let her read the impact he had on the board. She was curious on the impact he had here and I think this will be great tribute for his family to read.
I kind of think we should have some type of tribute/memorial for Bols. Maybe something like a Pinned thread that lets everyone share their greatest posts made by him.
Thoughts?
Absolutely gutted.
Bols was the very best of what makes the Den, the Den.
This one hits hard.
Rest in peace, brother.
Done.
Damn - this is a gut punch. I’m at a loss for words. RIP Bols. You’ve been called home, although selfishly I wish you were still here. Going to miss ya man. This one hurts so, so bad.
Somehow, I don’t think that football championships will be such a big deal while he’s smiling down from ‘upstairs.’ But, when we win one, I’m sure it will be one heck of a party up there (with him leading chants)!
He will be very missed. And to any of his loved ones who may be following up on what we write here, we love you and are so sorry for your loss. May the days ahead bring you peace and comfort.
