The Den has lost a legend; Charlie, Bols, has joined the heavenly Den group

Someday I’m taking a trip to Chatham, Ontario. Find out exactly what Bols was up to there and find the ones he sired. Legendary!

A POEM: A branch has left our family tree.

You hear a voice that whispers. grieve not for me. Recall the laughter. the song, the cheer

, the vibrant life-when I was near. Carry on our heritage, embrace the light, keep smiling. Dispel the night.

My mind is calm, my soul at peace. reflecting a life that will never cease.

Maintain traditions however small, forge ahead in life, stand tall.

I miss you deeply, so lift your chin, until the day we reunite - Let life begin.

I think a lot of us, myself included, take this forum for granted. I live in PA and there is nobody around here that roots for the Lions. This place is where I go to enjoy reading and discussing the team I’ve loved since I was a kid. We have a great community here. I’ve spent a lot of money and got a lot less enjoyment than I do from this place daily.

We all play a small part in making this forum what we have all come to enjoy and probably take it for granted most days. Bols seemed to understand what this place is and how important it is. His presence will definitely be missed, but not forgotten. RIP bols, there is no doubt you will be missed around here.

I feel privileged he felt he could share with me. Always measured and careful, but I knew he got really ■■■■■■ up in Afghanistan. You would never guess that he had been a part of some really heavy shit based on his posts. This is what real heroes are like.

Extraordinary Man-

I sent this to Bols yesterday- I’m sharing this because I feel I’m not alone here, Bols wasn’t just a Den mate, he was making a difference and I’m sure I’m not the only one he helped.

Thank you for being my friend.

It has been an honor to interact you in the Den. You have been a mentor to me and I never knew it. Watching you interact in the Den has taught me to relax and don’t worry about anything. Just laugh and have fun. I lurked for many years in the Den and didn’t say much, some of these guys on here can be brutal to each other. You taught me not to worry about it, just Laugh. Thank you my friend, what I learned from you has changed my life. In the real world, I’m now fearless. Nothing bothers me. No one gets the better of me. I’m Shameless. LOL Godspeed my friend, it has been an Honor- love you Brother
