They may have lost the shot at Laurence, which fans will whine about. Jaxsonville is a good spot for Laurence. The Jets need a whole bunch of things and may not take a QB.

I think with all of the Jag’s picks and cap space, it also makes the Jags a very intriguing spot for any GM or HC. You get T. Law and a gazillion draft picks and cap space to mold your team in your image. You also have a few years until ownership is expecting success.

Personally, I think this sucks for the NFL with Lawrence going to arguably the most irrelevant market in the league.

He is from Knoxville, TN. I would say he probably would enjoy living in Jacksonville more than New York.
8.82% state tax in NY,
3.9% city tax in NYC
0% in FL.

Jacksonville is a beautiful city with nice beaches, New York is a shithole.
And the Jets are a much worse organization than the Jags.

The Lions should get the #8 or 9 spot.
Dallas and Philly play each other, so the Lions will pick ahead of at least one of those teams. The Lions probably lose out. And the Chargers play Denver next week. They should win that game.
This may be best for the Jets, Darnold is not the problem in NY… Now they can take Sewell and push Betcon to RT, or a more likely scenario, trade down and stockpile picks… They need A LOT
An impact defender is needed. Hard to pass on a quality Dlineman for a LB that high unless there isn’t any impact guys there.
How many times have the Jags been drafting in the top 5 in recent years? They drafted numerous times in the top 5. They have had numerous opportunities to mold their team in a certain way & they seem to fall short almost every year. That right there demonstrates that tanking & being lousy on purpose will get you absolutely nowhere.
