Honestly iOL is a spot where you can also find bargains, like the Bills did when they originally brought Edwards in. Or the Rams with Dotson or the Panthers with Mays. I want to be the team that finds one of those the first time around, not who pays them once they’ve hit.
Still are stuck with getting one. I think it would be pretty major to decide against overpaying out of principals under the circumstances.
I am all for not overpaying 99% of the time. But, we need at least one sure fire starter added in FA and another who can compete for another spot.
We are forced into this with the retirement of Rags and the questions surrounding Decker.
It’s supposed to be fun to be a fan of a decent/good team. It’s just not fun in Detroit. Maybe the Tigers a bit. But I think our GM has lost his way (if this is true)

He has to make moves this year. Lions have a ton of holes .
I didn’t expect mountains to be moved but they desperately need iOL, DE, CB, S help in the worst way. Like actual starters .

Not a FA but …
I was in a hurry this morning when I made this post. To expand further on what Birkett said, he doesn’t expect the Lions to be big spenders in FA and sign a big name. He said, they are stock piling picks and are more likely to trade for vets. The example given was Carelton Davis 2 years ago. Not being active in FA doesn’t mean they are not going to make moves.
This isn’t exactly ground breaking news. I don’t think anyone really expects a Trey Henderson signing or a trade for Crosby. Rumor as of now is the Rattlier is moving to center and we might trade for a guard. A guy like Zeitler 2 years ago. Basically the consensus is half the league is looking for a center.
basically our big money signings is going to be Gibbs and Campbell extensions.
