I doubt our WR core is 100% healthy by week 7. But the roster crunch is a legitimate concern. Perhaps an F tight end and an another WR is the way to go. Regardless I think preparing as though we don’t get a lot out of Jamo is prudent. I still think Jamo will help us next year. I just don’t want to left short handed in terms of pass catchers.
I guess I’m crazy because I don’t think they need a WR in Round 1. I’m saying this by taking a leap of faith, upon calming down since yesterday, that Jamo will come back by Game 7 and keep his head on straight.
The reality is that the Lions were a top 5 offense last year with no contribution from Jamo and not much from Chark until the last 6 games or so.
The Lions have a good enough WR group right now to hold it down and they’ve upgraded the running game which is really their bread and butter.
I’m not saying that they don’t need to draft a receiver, I thought that before yesterday, but they don’t need to force it in Round 1. They don’t need somebody who can go up and get the ball, that’s a missing element outside of Old Marvin.
I wouldn’t hate it even at 6, assuming that Carter and Anderson are off the board. Give me an impact, high upside guy. Wilson, JSN, hell even Bijan screw it. They have many early picks, they can afford to splurge on a luxury “fun” pick.
I’d be meh on it but understand corner or offensive lineman. I’d hate QB or tight end but even with QB, I could understand it to an extent.
The receivers in this draft are terrible. The only value starts in round 3 or so. The last couple years, the number of great under classmen that came out caused kind of a lull. JSN would be like the 4th or 5th receiver last year. He will probably be a solid pro… but that’s not what 1st rounders are for.
Well he was kinda the 3rd wr on his own team. And London has a far higher ceiling. And x receivers are much harder to find then slot types at the NFL level
I mean if you look at the box score he was actially WR1 over both Wilson and Olave. And it’s not his fault that he was viewed as a WR3. If he goes anywhere else he’s easily a WR1.
You would think we had a top 5 defense and our offense was holding us back and now we lost our only offensive weapon we had for 6 games. SMH at you guys
