It seems like Miller would play if the game were Sunday.
I also wonder if all the supplements and such they take also contribute to their bodyās breaking down faster than normal.
Could be, Iām certainly not an expert on all the science behind that stuff. But thereās no doubt they take them a lot. At the very least one of the byproducts of some supplements is likely to be becoming more muscular and tightly wound, to in that sense Iād say they definitely contribute.
I donāt have any expertise. Especially not on OL ⦠or CB or LB or WR or QB or S or TE.
I think there are some former OL on here. Iāve inferred that @HSVLion may have played OL. I may be wrong about that though. After all I thought he was 62 years old until he announced to the board that he was heading off for college.
As for Scruggs I did think he played well but that is mostly in the sense that I didnāt notice him. I tend to just notice blown blocks or phenomenal ones. If I donāt notice an OL at all that tends to mean he had a workmanlike performance. I think that is probably true for most of us. Especially with the rise of fantasy. Just too much temptation to lock your eyes onto the skill guys.
The biggest thing I noticed with Scruggs vs Glasgow, last year it seemed like Glasgow ended up on the turf all the time. Even when he hit a successful block, he would then fall down to his hands and knees in the process. This completely eliminates any chance at a 2nd level block.
Scruggs seemed to have some good mobility to him. I did notice an early missed block where he lunged back across to his left and seemed to try to cut off someone getting through. That was still with Mahogany in the game so it was early and either one of them couldāve been the one who missed the assignment.
This is why the game replays and all-22 that comes with NFL+ is great.
That may have been the case. But Dan and company changed their approach this offseason. So @Wrath-SRT is correct. I mean he was correct regardless bc the kid literally got rolled up on. It has nothing to do with practice at all. But if you followed any of the reporters during the offseason they were constantly talking about the different intensity.
So itās not time to talk about practice. You are citing old information from previous years and not applying current information or the actual events that lead to the injury.
Im actually really annoyed with this. These players havenāt played a game in 7 months for the most part and now they have to play 2 games in 5 daysā¦.wtf? Player safety my ass.
There is a good chance that if this game was being played Sunday Miller would be a go.
The NFL (and players) are all about the money. Sure, Thursday games suck (both quality and for player safety), but in the name of the almighty dollar, here we are. I also agree that Miller would more than likely be a go if it was Sunday, but heās also (presumably) not the difference between winning/losing tonight. Assuming we donāt have any injuries on the line tonight, that part should be OK. Sharing the Gibbs workload would be nice to see as would the offense being in more sync than it was last week. Oh yeah, pray for our secondary.
And Gibbs
And Saint
And Penei
And Alim
And Jack
And Hutch
And Gibbs again
Completely agree, and I have vented about the guys playing on 3 days rest several times over the years. Shit I did a heavy leg day 3 days ago and my legs are still sore.
Going back to my college days, I could barely walk after games. No idea how these dudes do it. Lots of pills and drugs I assume cause the show must go on. Decker was very open about all the pills and injections he was taking last year to play.
The only good thing is try to get out of tonight mostly healthy please, and the fellas get 10 days off before violence resumes.
Couldnāt agree more - just adding a win would be nice too ![]()
I did. Starting LG on the best team in school history, which had the passing yards leader for the state of Alabama among all divisions our senior year. We put up 40+ in all 10 of our wins that season. 50+ at least 8 times. We were fun.
I would be watching this for our OL if I wasnāt being swamped with senior level pre-med classes and the med school application. Iāll probably be in and out of here all season because of those time commitments. Iām sure thatāll keep picking up as this semester goes on.
I really really enjoy watching film. OL film I can break down in a ton of detail. With everything else I know what to look for but not necessarily all of the details in technique.
I like watching them react to defensive movement in real time on the all-22. You can really tell who recognizes whatās going on around them and who sees things through a straw.
I also like watching WRs and DBs, but thatās mostly because you canāt really see them at all from the broadcast angle.
You must have been exhausted carrying the rest of that offense.
It wouldnāt have been possible without me!
