If the Tigers win they are a half game back of a wildcard
this AL wildcard is hilariously awful

Nice outing so far by Anderson. 3 scoreless. Tigers need to start hitting. A first hit would be a good start.
Edit: so let it be written, so let it be done!!

So how long do the Tigers keep Torkelson beyond this year? Heâs got 2 years left of team control. This year heâs costing Detroit $4M. Do the Tigers keep resigning him at that kind of contract, or do they finally cut bait?
Heâs about a .230 hitter, good for 25 HRs, 70 RBIs and a ton of strikeouts. It probably doesnât help that Riley Green has improved and Tork really hasnât.
Tork is on fire the last 2 weeks. Yes he swings and misses a lot but weird guy to pile on at the moment. He is the hottest hitter on the team right now
I wasnât piling on. I was asking a simple question. Asking for peopleâs opinion. Was there anything in my post that said the Tigers should get rid of him because he sucks?
If you keep him, then he has to be in the lower half of the lineup. The best teams seem to have a potent top half. Tork is not part of a group like that. Can Clark get there, too early to tell but he is a better candidate.
Mize got shelled tonight in his Padres debut. 8 ERs.
Fair bud. I jumped the gun cause I have seen so many examples of posters bashing Tork when heâs down but rarely ever celebrated when on fire.
Well, the bullpen went 5 2/3 of scoreless baseball. I guess that is about as much as you can ask from them.
Yeah. Right now it wonât matter if the Tigers canât score. This bullpen game vs Woo always seemed like an uphill struggle.
Still, intentionally walking Canzone to get to the best hitter on their team? A bit of a head scratcher.
Oh I was 5 mins behind on the streamâŠ. here comes the blowpen. Smh

Tork is a controllable 30 hr guy who will cost say $16m max over his last 2 years.
Projection models have him at .241 /30/94 with .796 OPS each of next 2 years. Reason? Age 26-28 is generally a playerâs performance peak years ( as opposed to prime being more 24- 32/33), though it depends on the player and hownearly he came up too.)
Ryan OâHearn at age 32, wirh a Lot less power and durability got a 2/29m deal before this season.
His 10 most similar players through age 25 come in with massive variance; he comps to Derrick Lee, George âThe Boomerâ Scott and John Mayberry on the good side, but also Pat Seerey, Tony Horton and Hawk Harrelson on the bad.
Also, Briceño wonât be ready Opening Day 27. Also, also,Tork is RH.
Nothing in any of this points to he is getting cut. Nothing.
I also think he wonât get a 2nd contract or QO either. Pay that man his money and roll dem bones.
These umpires are pathetic
Dingler for MVP
I wonder if all the Mariners fans look at what Dingler is doing and think, âMan, remember when our catcher was doing that?â
At this point he is cheap is ok in the field and as you point out can hit 22-30HRâs a season. The avg is low no doubt, to be fair to him ba in todayâs game is lower than 20yrs ago.
Probably due to how much time is spent on positioning by teams today. No more shifts allowed but the ss sure stands real close to the base in many cases.
To your question; I suspect they keep giving him chances to round out until Briceno is ready to give him a battle.
Better response .
Good interview with the face of the Tigers pitching staff now. Seems like a good kid who wanted to be Joe Mauer or Mike Trout growing up.
