Tigers Off-Season Moves

Jays signed Cody Ponce… Interesting signing

Was the best pitcher in Korea last year… With a mixed MLB record before.:thinking::thinking:

But that 17 wins and 1 loss record in Korea. Hmmmm interesting

Won the MVP last year

Tigers looking to sign any starter to a multi year deal makes me wonder about

Olson’s health and durability

Mize’s long term Tiger future.

Flaherty’s trade status

Melton’s status regardless of “He’s a starter”.

Skub’s long term status

Jobe’s recivery timetable being babied

The team philosophy shifting towards missing more bats.

Really, they have a better and more settled starting 5 than 80% if MLB….but a year later in 27? Who knows!

Tigers sign Drew Anderson. Who and why?

Worth a shot. Was awesome last year. Yes it’s the kbo but still a pretty decent league. I’d compare it to AAA ball.

This last season was easily his best.

  • 30 Starts
  • 2.25 ERA
  • 245 Strikeouts
  • 3.8 WAR
  • 1.00 WHIP
  • 12.8 Strikeouts per 9

The Jays got that Lauer dude from the KBO right? Maybe that wasn’t his name, I forgot.

Lauer last year and Ponce this year. Yep. Lauer pitched well for the Jays. 9 and 2, 3.18 era. The kbo should not be laughed at. It’s a good league. Not quite the Japanese league but not far off

Been to many KBO’s games when I lived in SK. Tons of fun. Japanese games are a blast too.

Over seas

He’s hopefully an Urquidy replacement for cheaper or something along those lines.

If he’s in the rotation we have some major problems.

What’s wrong with that? The MLB is loaded with great players who played overseas. See the Dodgers for example.

Just look at the World Baseball Classic results. Those leagues are no joke. Lots of great players in Japan and Korea

His mlb stats are bad. If this hr sp signing its going to be long season

But those stats are what 5 years ago?

It’s a low risk, high reward signing. If he sucks, you move on. No biggie at all. He could surprise like Lauer did for the Jays.

True. I wonder if hes going to be bp guy

He’s supposed to be a starter. I bet he starts at AAA.

You can never have enough pitching depth. Guy at AAA could be starting in the majors in no time.

Tigers will F around with Skubal, listen to offers at the TDL, say it wasn’t enough. He’ll walk for nothing. That’s how a sad organization would do it. Hope I’m wrong. But probably not.
