Tigers off season

Ok, you and the national media are right.
Interesting some of the national media on Sirius today picked the TIgers, but that can’t be accurate, right?
I mean Chris Ilitch is bad.
No credit for the playoff run last year, they were lucky.

LOL.
So, just so I understand based on your rants last year, you aren’t watching this season right? I mean, Chris I is baaaddddd.

So, no growth from Greene, who I see you didn’t mention? Hmmm?
No growth from Keith, he has reached his pinnacle.
as I said you are consistent.

Picking a the tigers to win a game isnt the same as making a playoff run.

And statistically speaking, the tigers last year had the greatest luck since 1970 from august 1st through the end of the season.

Also yes players including green look to be improving and i love it.

However most good teams when they realize they have a good core of young cheap team controlled players, add good vets around them to make the team better.

Tell me where that IF makes a playoff run.

When they had the same exact issues last year.

The tigers and red wings are in a similar place right now. Both headed in a great direction with young awesome talent on the way. Will be interesting to see what the cheap son Ilitch does, seems to be polar opposite of Dad. However both also appear to be headed in a great direction

I thought it was Thursday

Picking to win a game, not sure what that is implying.
I think the SP will be solid to above average
Bullpen above average.
OF defense avg or above avg when you have Greene and Meadows out there.

I think Torres improves the IF with glove and bat.
I think Keith improves with the bat and does ok/well at first.
WC Is Torkelson, has he really taken a step forward with his bat

SS is a WC for certain Sweeney has shown solid bat in minors and a decent glove. How long til Baez is gone

Vierling at third with possible Jace later in the season who improved with his glove but struggled with the bat, which is usually his strength. Think he succombed to the pressure.

Still not sure how they “panicked” based on today’s lineup which you responded to earlier.

I think they clinch a wildcard again outside shot at division but a longshot.

Three kids sent to the minors? Who other than Jung are you referencing, and he didn’t earn it?

To be clear, there is a lot on the position side I question but I also understand the focus short and long term.

What player do they need to extend within the next 4 years? So whats the point of holding onto the money now?

So what in 4 years when they have to extend all these core players then they will spend? Not likely

I don’t want to get sucked into these conversations again this year, but I do want to chime in on Keith.

I think he’s gonna win breakout player of the year…you heard it here first.

Meh you and money while ignoring the bigger picture has been consistent.
They have already extended Keith, well before they needed to, but, of course, you don’t count that per last year.
Skubal needs to be extended.
Greene needs to be extended.
Ilitch has spent but, again, it isn’t money that you value because you remain short sighted.

Skubal yes needs a real contract.
Green, is under team control through 2028. So try again.

They literally dont have to extend any key player not named skubal until after the 2028 season.

So why not get some more depth on the team now?? Oh because chris is cheap.

This organization is ran like a clown car.

Do JUST enough to make it look like they are trying. Promise it will be about the young guys.

This year its “wait for Jug and Lee”
Next year it will be “wait for Liranzo and anderson”
Fallowing year it will be Clark and Mcgongile”

THEN they will have to start extending guys and “ooops we dont have any money because we have to extend these guys”

They will always have an excuse and promise for tomorrow. Its been 5+ years of “oh just wait till next year”

We have been waiting for 11 years for a REAL playoff team. It doesnt take that long. Especially with the good young cheap under control players they have. They literally have 0 excuses other than “well we dont want to block the young guys” or “well thats 1-2 more million or 1-2 more years then we want”

Again its not about the money its about having clear and obvious holes in the roster that have needed to be addressed for years and they havent done anything about it other than throwing below average bandaids at it.

And there is no REAL excuse to why not

Meh, stopped reading after that.

OH MY GODDDD CHRIS I IS CHEAP

lol
Greene doesn’t need to be extended, you aren’ wrong on that one. Yet, I would do it, and to your poiint, it would save Chris I money to do it now…

So, to clarify, are you or aren’t you watching this season?
Or just chirping about
cheap cheap cheap

You guys both can be true

On a separate note, Jarvy played center field today and also struck out on some sister Jean pitches, so that’s nice

It’s kind of humorous watching the Tigers try so hard to find any kind of value possible with Baez.

I think more than anything Hinch is working to get him more AB’s in ST.

Same thing the Jays are doing with Springer… Just buy these dudes out and move on. They are literally blocking younger guys from playing and developing. Frustrating.

I think the thing with Baez is Tigers injuries to Meadows and Vierling are keeping him in play.
