Tigers vs Braves; Sept 19-21

Tigers need address next year two bats. Cf, 3rd

And one sp who is either a number or a number 2 sp. Enough being cheap

We have about six number 2s clunking into each other out there already.

I’m more in the camp the team isn’t at the point where they can take the ■■■■ the picks mentality.

They made a run at Bregman and need to do so again if he opts out. I doubt they do anything with CF with Clark coming.

The biggest question that remains is Skubal and his future. I go back and forth on whether to sign him, I want them too but it is risky considering Detroit is a mid market team at best. Yet, will Skubal sign before the strike? Will Boras let him sign or convince him to try free agency instead?

Do I want to sign Skubal for 8-10yrs, yes and no. The youngsters coming up in next 18months give them salary latitude for this but… You are signing Skubal thru age 37-39 and it is high risk. If they don’t then they need to trade him before catchers and pitchers report in five months.

Honesty i think we have 2 number 3

I’m talking fecal, not pitcher rotation.

One year deal or trade for cf

Good post. It really is a tough call. 30 year old Corbin Burnes signed for 6 years 210 million last offseason. Blew out his arm after 10 starts. Will be lucky to pitch next year at all. Will he ever be the same? Who knows. Skubal would laugh at the Burnes contract cause he is far better.

Pitchers getting injured so much these days so paying them long term is a real risk. On the other hand, what message are you sending to your fan base trading away the Cy Young?

IMO, Skubal decision is a big part of what they do/don’t do going forward. Until that is answered by Skubal and or the team not sure what the answer is going forward.

I don’t see them going for a CF and I don’t see a CF wanting to sign here with Meadows and, moreso, Clark being in Detroit in the next 12months in all likelihood.

Meadows is not a all day starter i agree with Clark. But it might take him time to be a actual mlb player . Im thinking trade for a guy with a year two left . Sign a 3b and a sp

good point. Plus if you are free agent and you want to win. Say Bergman for example, he ain’t signing unless he knows if the Cy Young is staying or not. Tigers gotta either extend him or trade this off-season when his value is at an all time high.

The Jays had a similar issue with Vladdy. They managed to sign him. Was a complete overpay but the alternative was probably worse

I ll say tigers should trade Skubal if they dont to spend this offseason. Still think trade is best way to go.
