What is this confidence based on?
If the Tigers lose these final 3 series to the Braves, @Guardians, and @Red Sox that would give them at most 3 more wins. Putting them at 88 wins total.
If Cleveland wins each of their final 3 series @Twins, Tigers, and Rangers that would give them 88 wins as well. Since the Guardians own the tie-breaker they would win the Division.
So assumed Division winners would be the Blue Jays, Guardians, and Mariners
The Tigers would then be competing against the Yankees, Red Sox, and Astros for the 3 wild card spots.The Yankees are already ahead of the Tigers by 1 game, and the Red Sox and Astros are only 1 game behind the Tigers record wise.
If the Tigers can’t muster a series win (meaning the next 2 games) against the Braves their chances are getting real tight to even make the play offs.

I think most of it will come down to the 3 game series vs Cleveland next week. If the Tigers win 2. They would be in good shape. Win 1 it gets dicey. Get swept and you are ■■■■■■!

The crazy thing is Cleveland is 6-1 this year vs the Tigers in Detroit. But Detroit swept them in Cleveland. The road team has won 90 percent of the games.

I haven’t believed in this team since “The Slump”. No real contender ever plays that bad for that long. They did have another good spell after, but I wasn’t buying it.
