To all you fantasy football players I have a question

That’s funny. This is the opposite of what I do. I try to have as little Lions as possible or if in a league with other Lions fans, use that leverage for advantageous trades. I lost a fantasy game because of Brian Branch (well, he could’ve won it, he didn’t necessarily LOSE it), which gives me negative feelings about a Lions player. I hate that, so I tend to avoid Lions. Plus, it gives me incentive to care about watching other NFL games if all my guys are non-Lions.

I can definitely understand why you’d want Lions as a Lions fan, but for me it’s the opposite. I hate that feeling of being upset over fantasy if they underperform or whatever. The only reason I even have Branch is because the guy I took over for had drafted him previously.

I played him :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

With the QB situations in Cincy and Minnesota I would argue that The Sun God is a better fantasy play than both those guys…right now.

I kept Jameson Williams and Sam Laporta from last years team since I picked them up so late. I also have Goff and Montgomery.

Sun God is amazing in PPR or .5PPR formats because he gets generally about twice the amount of targets as any other receiver.

He doesn’t generally have the highlight reel explosive plays but his floor is generally about 7 targets, 60 yards and 1 TD a game.

That’s a higher floor than Chase, Ceedee or Jefferson.

I typically pick at least 2 to 3 Lions every year. I’ve won four championships (including last year) in the last 20 years in a 12 man league. Not bad. After the draft this year I had the top power ranking. Currently, I’m in second place and second in points scored.

This year I have Monty, Gibbs, the Lions defense (I played Tampa’s defense this week though), and Teslaa buried deep on my bench. I took Isaac with the last pick more so as a joke. He’s probably going to be DFA’d soon for that roster spot. He’s disrupting my locker room.

I’m only in a dynasty league this year, so I took TeSlaa in the 3rd round of the rookie draft because after seeing preseason, I knew he was a gamer and I didn’t really need WRs, but you can never turn down good young depth in a dynasty league.

I don’t have a single lion on my team. One of the girls in the league reaches for as many as she can, and I still draft for value.

She has 5 Lions and I played her in week #1.

Yeah, this is how I am too. Any time I’ve been playing with friends/family in the past who are Lions fans, Lions get WAYYYY overdrafted. I’m trying to win, so I’m trying to always get value. And after 20 years of fantasy, I now only really play in leagues that have pretty substantial monetary buy in because it’s the only way it’s still exciting for me, so even more important to not overdraft lol

There’s always a risk if you pick a quarterback and wide receiver combo from the same team If one goes down, they both suffer (see Jamar Chase). I didnt mind taking Monty and Gibbs because they play so well together. I figured if one gets hurt the other will become a monster for me anyway. I do have Mason from the Vikings as well. With Aaron Jones down, Mason has put up some good numbers.

Together we ride. I snagged McBride as my TE because I knew LaPorta wouldn’t slip to my next pick. He didn’t. Probably Murray’s #1 guy where Goff has a lot more targets. One of these days I’m going to grow a pair and start TesLaa over DeVonta Smith… Not quite yet. (Insert regret this time next week here…)

I’ve got Dropsy MHJ on my team. I just flexed him out this next week for Mason from Minnesota.

Myself like @Lionpile also selected Teslaa with my last pick. FF is for fun…I used to take it more seriously, but like three or four years my roster was crushed by injuries. So I just draft Lions now and they tend to always stay healthy for me

So crazy. At the hand off I 100% noticed that and was like WTH is going on….why would he do that……did Goff miss handle? And then the pitch and I immediately wondered if that ball orientation was on purpose so ARSB could pitch it faster.

Ok @3rdRGR

What you going to do this week?

Would you start Monty?

Goff?

I’d start St. Brown and LaPorta this week.

I’d sit Goff and Monty if the other QBs / RBs on my team had better matchups.

Jamo is the wildcard, it’ll either be boom or bust with him.

This is why you pick a 65%+ snap share lead back AND the QB from a top 10 offense.

Goff-Gibbs

Allen-Cook

Baker-Bucky

Burrow- Chase Brown

are the combos I could get.

Really, not many other ones out there. Lamar-Henry, mayyyybe Staffy-Kyren if you squint.

I did start Goff and Monte. Saint, Jamo, Lions Defense. Jeanty was my lead RB and he (finally) went off and saved me. Stafford would have been the right call this week, but I think I’m just going to ride with Goff till the bye week. Can’t have another debacle like benching him in the Chicago game. Not going to overthink it.

I had Monty’s 1.2 points and AJ Brown’s 1.7 point in my line up and MHJ’s 15.6 points and Gainwell’s 28.4 points on my bench. Gonna lose by about 10. I would like to take AJ out into the abyss and drown him. Turdball.
