Trade Mays Now

Yeah, I knew but sometimes I’m still shocked by the lack of football intelligence here with some

I wouldnt decide on this small sample size who is better center.

But I’m not worried, if we want Juice as longterm starter there will be options to fix this.

You’re seriously writing this the day after our C
got injured.
Did you notice when we played GB, they were down to their 3rd string C in the first quarter. Why? Injuries in that game

Already been said but how can you trade Cade Mays, when he’s had no fair shot to do what we brought him here for shit he’s played what 2 games for us? he’s not getting play time , experience, practice at his craft to see if he can do better. the guy was already injured-maybe we played him too early? maybe he just sucks ? I’m not certain-but he needs a fair shot and then try to figure it out.

Getting your ankle rolled up has nothing to do with coming back from a broken wrist.

Yes, but Mays is out for who knows how long. So the question is, who the ■■■■ would be dumb enough to trade anything for a guy who’s not even able to play until who knows when?

fail to see your point, the guy was already injured via the wrist, later on he had is ankle rolled up on.. I said nothing wrong as he first had the broken wrist, and I said “he was already injured” and he was. so where are you going with this?

You said “the guy was already injured-maybe we played him too early?” in the context of him not getting much play time, to me it sounded like you were conflating his new injury with the old one. Sorry if I misunderstood where you were going with that.

when initially Cade had the wrist deal , he came back fairly quick and we plugged him in at Center immediately, where he didn’t fare so well at all, this is why I suggested that "maybe we played him too early . ( having to do with keeping him.) , then I went on about play time, getting more reps and experience -another suggestion (he may do better after) and I ended it with the fact he hasn’t been given a fair “prove it trial here yet” so, why trade him before we know IF he can get better or he’s just not that good? I wouldn’t be a good player if my wrist was buggering me or if I had rolled my ankle. shrug.

Ah, sorry, I misunderstood. Yes, we haven’t really seen enough of him yet, I agree.

Mays is a cupcake

Wait. What’re you tryna say?

Especially silly since a small-bone fracture in his wrist and a LOW ankle sprain are not remotely worrisome long-term.

In fact, my guess is that if we didn’t have an excellent backup in Scruggs, we’d see Mays this week. We still might. But if there’s any doubt at all about Mays’ fitness, no reason not to play Juice against Miami.

@Mobetta20 , you understand that fractured bones very easily can turn into broken ones, I don’t know the pain-level he has just for that, let alone trying to keep 2 or 300 plus pound men from getting to Goff and having that hand slammed into again and again, the power and control you lose , being your wrist is fractured and probably NOT in the greatest shape to push, shove, and control the guy in front of you. aaaallll that said, I have had my ankle rolled up on-at least twice and your ankle is very tender, sore, and also quite hard to use to keep other pro football players from getting to your QB, the more you test that ankle, the more painful it can be-because it hasn’t been able to get treated , rested, or any medicine to that wounded area. there are only a few injuries you can “gut it out” and recover. verses getting rest, and that from a clinic or hospital.

until his wrist is 100% Mays shouldn’t be trying to keep 200 -350 pound men with power and great intention to get to Goff-that- would probably lead to a worse injury, to where Cade wouldn’t play for 3-4 games at a guess. It is best he get’s healed all the way up-then play.

Do you think his wrist isn’t 100% already?

not sure because of how poorly his play was when he came back, and I said "put Scruggs back in-and things improved. maybe his wrist was sore from trying to keep Goff upright , but Cade’s return wasn’t great so far play-wise.

The video disagrees with you

Mays was not solid he was very good until he popped that ankle against Minny

I am baffled by people who say last season a huge problem was center play and then the Lions find 2 that are good and the cry is to dump one???

Juice is a FA for cheap so why not keep both

If Juice keeps playing at his current level, he will not be a cheap when his contract is up at the end of the season.

Keeping him beyond this season will mean not addressing LB or CB in free agency and/or contribute to not being able to keep one of Branch and LaPorta.

For this season, they will of course keep both guys, especially with Mays out and the trade deadline imminent.

For next season, Juice will go get his bag, and the Lions will be just fine with Mays. Even if Lions coaches liked Juice a bit better, the numbers won’t make sense to do it any other way.
