So I got asked to play out the 4th round to our pick then post some options for us, so I did. I picked the guys mentioned in the last thread as “what I would have done if the draft kept going,” where I could, but otherwise used a combo of needs/taking players I thought would never make it our pick anyway, for some realism. So don’t get too worked up if I took someone you wouldn’t take!
Here’s how the picks went since the draft finished up:
Now, here are our best options as I see them (and it was VERY difficult to cut them down to 20 at this point in the draft, I started off with 40 guys. If I cut the guy you most wanted to take, I apologize.
I was hesitant to include Allen, because I have a feeling he’s gonna win, and I honestly don’t think we’ll go RB this early. But I was trying to be true to the draft board and when I expect them to go, and it’s hard to not see him going here in these next few picks.
I agree they PROBABLY don’t go RB bc it’s a pretty easy position to fill and Gibbs is going to dominate the touches. I just like him too much not to take him lol
I could see a RB. Vaki is entering year 3, has barely played on offense and Pacheco is a 1 year deal. If there is a guy on the board we really like, you get him cheap for 4 years
And this FO has shown that they don’t care about positional value, so RB is definitely on the table. It’d basically make Vaki a ST only pick (which I hate), but Allen would be the prefect balance to Gibbs and he’s great at pass blocking too.
Nobody, the draft is over. I was just asked over on another thread to finish it out up to the Lions pick so people could make a pick for the Lions (which is what this poll is). As for the rest, it’s over, though I’ll try and get your preference for Nic Anderson to Chicago if I end up going any further, which is unlikely.
