Rookie year is officially in the books. Thoughts and observations?
Some good, some bad. Did see some improvement as he progressed through the season. He’s not a no. 1 CB yet, but I thought he played well considering injuries forced him into some tough matchups.
Coverage got better. Never really improved his backside contain discipline. TBH CD had issues with it as well. Need to see more playmaking but that will come. Glad that he addressed the flag issues. Going to be a good one IMO. Whether or not he’s ever a true lockdown guy I am unsure of but he’ll be a very good corner in this league IMO.
Gonna be really good
Had the rookie learning curve all CBs go through
Gonna be a beast by year 3
Has to get strong. Otherwise, he’s going to get hurt alot. I like his game tho
I think he put a lot of good tape out there. Most of the mistakes he made are easily correctable and could be attributed to being a rookie. I think he takes a sizable year 2 leap.
I find this hilarious. ■■■■ the Commanders
Right now, decidedly bellow average. Improved but no better than average at season’s end.
AND has all the physical ability in the world. Needs to strengthen technique and mental game. Seems to be wired right to do just that, though.
Has a floor of a good NFL CB2 long term…barring injury. I mean, that’s what he was this season.
That comes with the OBVIOUS caveat that he was a rookie this season. He’ll definitely get better over the next couple of years.
I think we have a starter at that position for the next five years, which was the goal when we picked him.
He played like a rookie. He played like a starter also. Will see marked improvement next season.

My thoughts exactly. I think it’s the hardest position besides Qb and he progressed throughout the year.
He was sticky in coverage from day 1!!!
He is further along imo than slay was at this point and he should be given where he was drafted.
Thought he had solid year. Not sure we should have traded up for him. Also I was very upset on the 4th and 2 and DANIELS rolls right to him and he just sat there.
After year 3 we are going to wonder how we pay him after his All-Pro year.
Improved over the course of the year. Typical for a rookie.
I think he didn’t play like a 1st round draft pick but has potential. I expect to see more polished play from him next season.
I thought he got worse as the year went on. Really sticky coverage early on but got DPI called early and often. Killed his confidence and forced him to back off and play hesitant. Never developed the ball-tracking skill I had hoped to see as the weeks passed.
Hoping the new DC can help and we see a nice jump next year. He’s got the talent.
I thought he did well, started rough but improved throughout the season in one of the tougher positions for rookies.
Worst first round pick since Okudah, but we had some good picks since that time
I thought we paid the Alabama tax for him.
Really? Interesting. Development is not linear but in general I thought he clearly progressed as the year went on. Dan seemed to indicate similar feeling in various pressers.
