1. Kwity Paye

2.David Ojabo

Provided the medicals check out, this guy is your 2 year stopgap that is ultra productive, will help teach Hutch and company some new tricks and give time for your draft picks to develop into full time players.

he would be fantastic but would want a truckload of cash.

I would rather have Paye than Ojabo, but yeah I would like Trey over both. He won’t be cheap, but he shouldn’t be as expensive as he’s been of late either. And don’t forget him and Dan have a relationship from their days together in New Orleans.

I don’t think he will. I think he will be happy to get out of Cincy, and the reason he made so much last year was because they basically screwed him when he agreed to accept a lower amount in 2024 so they could get Higgins deal done, and he could get a new contract in 2025. Then the Bengals played hard ball with him and wanted him to stay at his old contract. He held out and got his bag.

If he wants a huge bag from us, it’s a no for me as well. He is 31 years old, and probably only has a couple years left. I think he might be more negotiable to go play for a team that already has built in help with Hutch, and will give him 2 years to chase the ring.

I feel bad for Ojabo. Dude tore his achilles right before the draft and then when he finally made it back he tore his ACL. Just brutal.

With that all said Brad Holmes is guaranteed to sign him. :joy:

I think I’d rather have Ebiketie over either Paye or Ojabo.

But Trey really is the perfect chips all in move in that you really don’t even have to move your chips all in and yet you are getting a guy that with a bounce back to pre-2025 levels could very well put the defense and therefore the team over the top.

And then for some mysterious reason KS lines both him and hutch up as tackles (hutch drops back into coverage after the snap) and McNeil and Harry the Hotdog vendor are assigned to the edge

There’s no kwit in Kwitty.

There’s a pay, though. Let’s see what he ends up costing.

They’ll probably just re-up him. Ballard is vengeful and loves a good Paye back.

Clowney

Clowney was unreal every time I saw him play this year. 3-4 times id say. All I know is I’ll be disappointed with the Lions FA haul.

“Medicals check out”? When has that ever stopped Brad?

I wonder if we can get a rental on a guy like Joey Bosa? Probably shooting too high. Maybe Boye Mafe, he is a pretty solid run defender.

Maybe, maybe not as to the first part. He wasn’t particularly productive in 2025 due to injuries:

And, the first part may influence the second part as teams may be leery of paying huge $$ to a guy coming off an injury-prone season. He’s not exactly Danielle Hunter entering the market.

Inspiring!

For my $ I think a 1st rd. DE makes more sense. Very likely a solid DE is there for us. That locks that position down for 5 years. I also bring back Muhammad if possible and Josh Paschal (1 year deal):

Hutch, top rookie DE, DE rookie from 2025 (kid from Egypt), Paschal and Muhammad.

I look to FA for a bridge OT and a long-term veteran center in FA.
