There was a record label called Touch and Go that started in Detroit and then moved to Chicago. Look up that roster of bands, holy crap. My buddy was a tour manager for them. So much fun.

That is awesome! Did you ever see them play or get to meet them? I had known the kids in the hall song since I was a kid but then a few years later came to learn about the band. I really dig them and got super into them for a period of time. A guy at Wazoo records in Ann Arbor educated me a long time ago and I was hooked.
Yes, they played in Windsor once and saw them then.
Actually also many of the Touch and Go bands would do their first Canadian night in Windsor and then head up to Toronto and Montreal as my friend was the resident tour manager for those groups. So much fun.

For the record I do like some Depeche Mode songs. The delivery of that line was just perfect though

I do like some their stuff too. Can’t deny the songwriting quality. And they knew who they were and really captured the zeitgeist at the height of their powers.
