My list would be very similar. I would add the below people to it.

Resign Avonte Maddox - 1 year 2mil

Resign AQM - 2 years 12mil

Sign TE Will Dissly 1 year 3mil.

Sign Matt Milano 1 year 4mil

A couple of the beat writers caught a glimpse of Holmes working Free Agency yesterday

Good shout here.

Does he count against comp formula? @DeadStroke

A number of our own guys back would be nice:

Maddox and Reader are at the top of my list.

DE is a real concern. OT/Decker not replaced. We haven’t replaced Anzalone or even Davenport. No additions at safety. Amik not replaced.

Mays is a big add. We have a viable swing OT. Rock and Rodrigo back are big. Juice Scruggs is a nice add for depth.

Lots of players get. Holmes value time for sure.

Brad takes the same approach every year. He makes a couple solid but not news breaking signings early. After that he lets the market settle, then he fills out the roster. Yet every year fans freak out that he’s not doing anything. Patience.

This x 100. Exactly our recipe every offseason. We notch stars regardless of position through the draft hopefully, and stopgaps at all the remaining spots.

No matter what he does the defense is going to be ass. To be honest he was hamstrung by the contracts he’s doled out in the past (some were good and some weren’t) so I’m not sure what he could’ve done…but he’s done nothing on D so to think it’s not going to be more of the same with the D seems foolhardy. Another season of if we don’t score 28+ we likely won’t win. There are still players available that can stabilize things a bit but the chances of having d that teams fear or reall respect are gone.

Definitely not meth

Should easily qualify as a 7th.

Wasn’t his contract redone tho? I don’t fully grasp that part yet

Looks like it. I don’t follow all the details on all the contracts.

Steelers having a good free agency , they got Dean too nice

Cook up the honest announcement that it’s a soft rebuild year and that ticket prices will be reduced for 2026 reflecting such

That’s a solid list but I can’t do Brisker. I hate him too much to ever want him in Detroit. I’ve never seen a player run his mouth so much while simultaneously doing nothing or the play being nowhere near him.

Don’t forget Dan Jackson, I think the staff has high hopes that he can be the 3rd safety

I haven’t forgotten him, but I think Maddox Harper & even Rock would play ahead of him he’s a fringe roster guy at this point but he can develop into more i agree

When we made the NFCCG- we had a 75 rated Anzalone, an 60 rated Barnes, and a 52 rated Jack Campbell as a rookie playing 2500 snaps

We had a 11.5 sack Hutch, 4 sacks combined from Comish/Okwara, and 7.5 sacks between Mac/Buggs/Benito (1400 snaps)

We had 2200 snaps eaten up between Sutton/Jacobs/Vildor at CB… and 1640 between Kerby and Branch (500 plus more from T Walker)

We had 2400 total yards rushing and receiving between Gibbs and Monty… with Gibbs being the 1B-

We had 2,500 yards between Ra/Jamo/Reynolds, and 17 TDs

  • Now???

The challenge is many are discounting what Mac, Kerby, Reed, Arnold and others can/will be in 2026 based on worry…..

  • Gibbs/Pacheco/Rookie- Gibbs alone has averaged almost 1900 yards each of the last 2 years… any reason to believe Pacheco can’t get us 600-700 total yards and short yardage? Aside from 2024, he’s averaged about 850 yards and 7 TDs in his other 3 years…. I think we take a back in round 4/5 as well, given just a 1yr deal- and a motivated Pacheco needing to perform badly this year.

  • What about Ra, Jamo, Teslaa? How about 2650 yards and 24 TDS…. We will be adding another WR to replace Raymond’s 220 yards and 1 TDs… not worried

  • Hutch, Mac, Tyliek- they had 16.5 between the 3 of them, and that is a drop off from what we got in 23’ for sure, but I listed 6 guys to get to those 22 sacks… I’m willing to bet we fill in 8 more sacks in FA (or more) and then add 1-2 key pieces in the draft

  • I’d argue that current Jack is worlds better than any iteration of Anzalone, and I’d be correct. Last year Barnes coming off a knee was easily better than rookie Jack or 2023 Barnes. We simply need a 3rd LB who can have a 55-60 plus rated season and we are same or better than 23’

  • Arnold/Reed/Rock is better than Sutton/Jacobs/Dildor- by a LOT

  • The scary one is safety… I believe Kerby will be back week one, and I’m aware my belief is just as much HOPE, as many others negative belief is mostly FEAR-

I think it’s pretty safe to say that we didn’t free up $35MM by restructuring Goff, just to sit on it..

Jordan- 10 sacks

Clowney- 7 sacks

Joey Bosa- 5 sacks

J Clowney- 7 sacks

  • all of these guys have the bulk and strength to set the edge, and all had a 70 to 80 plus grade last year. Any one of them on a 1 yr 7-8M deal would be awesome and clearly attainable with our cap space and 4 to choose from.

  • Logan Wilson, Dre Greenlaw, G Pratt are 3 solid to good coverage backers with varying levels of risk That said if any can be had for 1 year and 5-6M it’s worth it as a LB3, that couldn’t easily be LB2 and adequately replace Anzalone cheaply if we choose wisely

  • Brisker, X Woods, or Meifonwu would really help out our short term safety depth, and all are better players to give 500 snaps to than Walker was in 23’ - I bet one is available for 4-6MM

  • Lattimore/T White/McCreary- depending on inside or out, I bet one of these guys capable of a mid 60s to mid 70s rated season… maybe get a last ride version of S Gilmore from Lattimore or White? Maybe 7M on a one year

Adding Cam Jordan or Bosa, along with Greenlaw or Wilson, and maybe Iffy and T White or Lattimore and I think we go into the draft in absolutely great shape

12M, 6M, 5M, and 7M is about what I’d guess on 1 year deals…. That is what Goff freed up

Then they redo Sewell the same way and take care of draft and what we bring into the season

I expect we trade a 4th or 5th for a starter prior to or during the draft … a Monty or Gary level player at a position of need
