What should Brad cook the next 2 days?

Conklin just got cut. Does he have some career ending injury or would he be worth bringing in to hold down the right side?

The difference is that those teams went on playoff runs and were near the top of the league, there were a lot less holes to fill.

This is the price for success with a team that was so good that a bunch of guys got paid which now used up most of the cap space. The problem is that the team underperformed relative to how much money that was committed to these guys so the Lions didn’t get return for their investments and are now a 9-8 team with not much cap space to work with and a whole bunch of roster holes that have now been created.

Brad is going to have to return to his super drafter self after a couple of dud drafts at least relative to his previous success. Regardless, there’s no reason not to sign some lower end free agents to fill some of the gaps. They’re missing a starting tackle, tight end is a bit of a question mark, they have no healthy safeties, no edge opposite of Hutch, thinned out depth on the interior, lost some cornerback depth and lost one of their best LBs. Can’t go into the draft with this many roster holes IMO.

Going off his previous off-seasons, he will sign more FA’s. It’s just likely to be after the market settles and players accept what their market value is. He’s not going to change this strategy because the team went 9-8.

It wouldn’t surprise me to hear that Brisker is using his playoff performance from last year to ask for more than 2/$15M.

Dude remember when we had Brock Marion for 1 year? So random.
