Where would Derrick Brown play in our defense?

I’d rather pay A’Shawn 10 million and draft someone that can get after the QB.

That’s a real answer, and a fair one. And I agree. If A’Shawn is dumb enough to sign a contract with this disaster of an organization, I would do it. We have bigger fish to fry.

I’m sorry, I don’t know why I was thinking we’d get the #2 pick. #3 overall makes 8.1 million per year.

Theres still a very small possibility young is there at 3 also. I here we have a very small chance at still getting #2. Not sure how but some here say its possible.

Im assuming we are picking at 5 when i say pick Brown.

I was gonna go with Defense. you beat me to it!

If we get to 2 then Young is the pick. If we are down closer to 5, maybe we will take Okuda (CB from Ohio State) if Brown is not enough of a value pick.

BQ needs to hit in free agency this year.

We would have to win another game this year to end up at 5. If we lose out, likely at 3 or 4.

I agree with those who say Brown is not as good as Suh. But I also don’t think Thomas is as good as Ogden, Okudah is as good as Deion, or Jeudy is as good as Megatron. Chances of Young slipping to 3 or Lions getting the 2nd pick are both extremely slim, so I haven’t even seriously considered him.

Draft Brown and you can line him up next to Ashawn, or replace him. Either way he is an upgrade.

its the same situation as last year. if we lose to GB then most likely end up with Josh Allan.

Don’t forget about Da’Shawn Hand, if the guy could stay healthy he might be okay. Big IF though, and I don’t know that he (Hand) would be a big difference maker. But I see DT as an important piece in this defense, both to stop the run and collapse the pocket and you need both unless you’ve got a kickass back 7. Right now, our LBs ain’t that good, they need better than average DTs in front of them. I like A’Shawn, but he really doesn’t get a lot of pressure on the QB, and besides I think he wants the biggest contract he can get and that’s not likely to be the Lions.

Im hoping Hand gets back to 100%. I think he will be very good again.

I hope Bryant can, at the very least, be good depth.

What spot did Mike Daniels play? Well I guess saying play is a little bit of an exaggeration. What position was Mike Daniels supposed to play when we signed him?

DTs we have under contract for 2020…

Who am I missing?

Damien Harrison
Kevin Strong
John Atkins

There’s a couple scenarios where we could end up at #2OA.

Here’s probably the easiest path

Dolphins beat Bengals this weekend.
Redskins beat Giants this weekend.
Giants beat Eagles next weekend.
We lose our last 2.

As a reach, the Dolphins could still lose to the Bengals this weekend, and then go on to beat the Patriots next weekend (not likely, but if the Patriots are resting players it could happen)

And then the Giants could beat the Redskins this weekend, but then we’d need the Redskins to beat the Cowboys the final weekend. (again, not likely, but possible).

So 2, 3, and 4 are still in play…if we lose out.

If we win 1, or both, of our final 2 games, then we could potentially fall all the way back to 11.

So really, spots 2 - 11 seem to still be in play for us.

If the Cowboys beat the Eagles this week they are locked into the 4 seed. They could rest guys in week 17 and the Redskins might be playing their B team for at least a half.

Or the Redskins could beat the Giants, and the Cowboys could beat the Eagles this week, then the Eagles season is over and the Giants could go on to beat the Eagles in week 17.

We need the Dolphins to win this week against the Bengals to move up to 3 at a minimum.

I agree. Need the Dolphins to win to at least get us up to 3, and then let the Giants/Redskins situation work itself out.

My preference is still to root for the Giants to beat the Redskins this weekend, and then hope the Redskins would pick Thomas in the draft. Seems like the most likely scenario for us to get Chase Young.

Derrick Brown ain’t happening at #5.
Not going to happen.

He won’t play Nose. Not this year.
