Most overrated
Rodriguez

I feel like a beautiful pun flew right over a very bald head a few minutes ago.
Did you miss the part where I gave him (and those plays) credit for being electric and wasn’t putting him on this list? We beat the Vikings by 11. Take away his TD still a two score game (technically one). We beat the Bears by 31, so negate the run.
It’s not a contributing level of production which is all I said while also giving credit to the potential of his future contributions.
I’m not knocking the kid. His catch and run do go in the record books. But at this point, so what?
INTs can be fluky (Rodgers theow that hit helmet)…
but Kerby also had several plays where he was right in position to knock the ball away… almost in position to get an INT.
He had the 12th most passes defensed among safeties…
despite not playing the first 3 games.
I’ve left my oven mitts at home, don’t know if I can handle that hot take.
It’s true. There’s no real way to eliminate luck as a factor. I do think Kerby will show out again, Jamo will blow up, Gibbs will be a headache for opponents and Houston will cause problems. I was just playing within the hypo
Jamo is way over-rated…until he proves otherwise. I get it, we knew he needed to heal and take time to get acclimated to the NFL…but 6 games and 1 damn catch? Like guys on here nit-picking over 1 catch here or 1 good reverse, so fricking what. Other players had plays taken away too…and still got more than one mf’ing reception.

Anzalone is the most over-rated and under-rated player on the team.
I don’t know who else…

I still think Sewell is the most underrated as loved as he is. Alpha all day.
Fixed it for you.

At best, it’s a tie.
We’re banking on back surgery to fix Vaitai, but we can’t with Levi? When in retrospect, Levi should have had the surgery during or after his rookie year? We’ll see soon enough, but until further notice, I’m saying Levi will be activated by mid-season and is a force through 2024.
Is there a way to block responses to this post?

Overrated isn’t the word I would use I think fail to meet expectations is a better question. Rodrigo & Houston are both good answers.
Why be obnoxious? I did not miss or misread a thing.
I answered your point where you literally say his catch and his run were not production. Normally for other players sure that isn’t enough. But when you put in the context of the catch being a home run td and the run being a big time reverse…that is game changing production…given the very limited availability…a big play on 3 attempts…
Why water down what he has done? That is a separate conversation than this one. In his very limited availability he was very productive and explosive. He touched the ball 3 times and had 3 explosive plays with 2 going for long tds…so solely based on your original comments…he was productive.
We’re debating semantics purely based on my opinion of production and your opinion of production being different.
Me acknowledging his talent while thinking he hasn’t been contributively productive; both can be true.
2 tds and a 30 yard reverse would indicate that you definition of production would be incorrect.
the flying pun!
Jameson Williams’ “production” was as important to the Lions last year as J Jeffersons “production” was to the Lions last year. Like I said, you call it what you’d like and I’ll call it what I’d like. We’ll all get back to toasting hops and singing Tears for Fears.
I’ll throw in a new name: Hutch.
He may yet become a great player. He has good physical and mental tools and he wants it. But I saw a good-not-great rookie last year, whereas a lot of fans seem to infer from his gaudy stats that he was great.
Ironically, I think the stats were gaudy in part because the defense was so bad and was on the field so much. Hutchinson played a LOT of snaps. In fact, he was second only to Maxx Crosby among DL in snaps played last year. 2022 NFL Snap Count Leaders | Defensive Linemen | FantasyPros (And, yes, I know he was double-teamed a lot.)
I hope to see him become as good as many think he already is.
my prediction → He has more help, plays fewer snaps, & posts similar or better production
If we mean overrate now from fan hype Malcolm an Houston Could the hype be true I sure hope so can they at least help team for say 2or 3 years I think yes.
If Houston turns out to be what we would like an he showed last season. Lions D will be something teams will wonder how did they find him.
The two picked can still help are team just not as much as we would like. Doesn’t mean bad just over hyped.
My vote…… is…… nobody.
I don’t think any Lion is “overrated”….
because none of them get much hype individually from the media.
