Whittingham to UM; five year deal

That’s really hard to say. I can see why players would feel that way. Sherrone really let a lot of people down.

Moore was crap but this reads like a kids sour grapes to me.

Yeah I don’t know if it’s true, and I definitely think there is some piling on and excuses going on. I don’t really like that.

If it’s true though, and players were actually blackmailing Moore, I hope those players are gone.

It sounds like Whittingham had no issue getting rid of people who weren’t fits. He definitely did that with portal visits. You either wanted to come for the right reasons or he moved on.

On a different note, can you imagine a Hard Knocks version of a top NCAA program. With NIL, firings, scandals, etc.

It would be so entertaining. Probably better than the football games watching what actually happens from Jan to July

Imagine Georgia live streamed… Lol it would be nothing but criminals, drugs, gang bangs and speed racing

The Penn State version could never be shown legally.

If they did it at Ohio State, they would have to blotch out everybody’s faces and use one of those voice machines.

I think a Georgia Hard Knocks might look a little like an episode of the Dukes of Hazzard. Where everyone is racing, running moonshine, right under the noses of the cops who are too incompetent to do anything about it. Jalen would play one of the Duke boys.

UM was looking Moore like Dukes of Hazard movie version.

Moore was a bad coach and a grade A douchebag, and the players also didnt like him?! No wayyyy, nobody could of saw that comin’…I will miss the “he’s a good coach yeew just dont know ball” gaslighting some folks around here were partial to…I kinda wanted to see him here next season, only to watch the team under perform again, whilst some ppl continued to huff the laquer :skull_and_crossbones:. Yep, little karl is a petty feller.

I remember the usual suspect’s selling Moore to us like an RV salesman. All along the uneasy feeling of were buying a piece of poopoo in the pit of the stomach….

He was a good coach. They spent years trying to get their offensive line right, and Harbaugh could never get it right. Then he moved Moore over from TE coach to OL and that group just took off. Then he moves him to the lone OC and they win a national title. He was a great position coach, good OC and ace recruiter. What many of us questioned from the hiring was, could he build a winning culture. Could he develop recruits.

No one on here said “hey I think he’s going to bang a staffer and betray his staff and players.” That wasn’t on any bingo cards.

Agree to disagree…and part of being a good coach is having high team morale, and being respected by the players, ie not being married and banging a staffer when the whole team knows about it. So we’ll actually never know if he was good coach, because he never gave himself a chance….do you see the simple flow chart here? No?

Sure, we see the distractions now. I can go back and check your past posts, but I’m pretty sure you never suggested he might be banging a staffer and writing only fans models. You can’t take the now known, apply it to discussions when it was unknown and plant a flag of victory.

I will always come down on the side of a college coach deserves 3 years. The first year your roster will be depleted. Second year will be your first year of having your own recruits. Year three should show what you are. That’s the year you make a decision.

We know he was an excellent position coach. We know he was a good OC. We know he was an ace recruiter. You are correct, we will never know what he could have been as a HC because he threw it away.

Go ahead a review my posts…I’ve always thought he was bad coach, because I thought he came across as a disingenuous douchebag, and it seemed as if his team played for him that way after Harbs left. Of course I never thought it was at the level it ended up being…but I never had faith in him as a serious coach/ceo of the football team, or that of a “Michigan man”. Alot of folks around here think I’m negative about certain sports things just because I’m “being a troll”….when fact us, I’m usually pretty right about stuff, and have the track record to prove it. I’ll give props when it’s due, and I love the Whittingham hire…and if it doesnt work out? Then I wont rip him (unless he says/does douchey shit, but I dont think he will, as he’s not a douche)…he’s the real deal compared to Moore, even before the felonies

It’s ok to admit you were wrong…most people arent gonna buy any gaslighting about Moore, so you’re only gaslighting yourself still trying to spin him as a good Mich coach :man_shrugging:

I’ll give you that, as a positinal/peripheral coach, he was decent, but he was never cut out to be Mich HC, that much was obvious to the majority of the fanbase.

I never said he was. I argued for the process I laid out for you above. Some people get hyper emotional about games, I don’t. It’s just a game to me, so my opinions a process don’t change. The questions I raised when he was hired were the same I kept raising until he was fired.

I’d say the most damning thing I read about Moore was not the affair, but the exchange with Wink where he broke down and cried. These coaches didn’t talk, but that shows he couldn’t handle the weight of the job.

I do find it curious still that even after the season, not a single coach on his staff resigned. They all planned to run it back. That I find odd. So, some of this is piling on after the fact, but it’s if his own doing.
