Everyone has the own favorites.
PFF was using their ratings.
I went by the players standing in the league and my own opinion.
Since the Lions have 6 players that are All Pro that was my initial filter.
Penei, ARSB, Kerby, and Fox made 1st Team All Pro.
Ragnow & Raymond made 2nd team.
Fox & Raymond are Special Teams players so I take them off.
Penei is a no-Brainer as arguably the best RT in football.
Kerby has ascended to the best Free Safety in Football.
That leaves ARSB vs. Frank.
Since Frank retired I give it to ARSB.
Many, including PFF list Hutch.
Hutch is emerging but hasnāt broken that top 5 DE list yet. I think he would have this season but didnāt get to finish.
Gibbs is also right there but he has been in a split backfield and only recently became the guy because of injury.

I love Monty! But heās a hard running 4 yards per carry guy. Defenses donāt like facing himā¦ But defenses are terrified of Gibbs.
If Iām playing linebacker vs the Lionsā¦ I smile when Gibbs subs out to the sidelines and Monty subs in. Monty might run me overā¦ But itās still 2nd and 4ā¦ Gibbs just scored 3 tdās in the 1st quarter and I can barely touch him.

Many have spoken about Penei and Gibbs. But Jared is the one who finished 5th in the MVP voting and had a good argument to be higher. 2nd in QB rating.

I dont like this topic. Sewell is the engine of the OLine, Hutch was on track for DPOY last season and I expect him as strong back next season. Gibbs is electric with the ball in his hands. ARSB is catching anything you throw to him.
But yeah - Goff is also honorable mention, last year was outstanding (minus Div Rd). Hell, Kerby and Monty are also great. Just watch the highlight video of Monty. But Branch could also be the best S/NB next season in the league in his 3rd year. Jamo could easy break out. Lions are too freaking good to choose just three player.

I think this is clearly Sewell, Hutch and St. Brown
Those three are in a Hall of Fame trajectory. Next tier is/was Gibbs, Joseph and, tear, Ragnow.
Goff, McNeil, Branch and LaPorta in third tier with Branch and LaPorta very close to second tier but took a big of a step back last year. Jamo the ultimate dark horse but small sample size. Lots of talent, hard to make this list although I think the top tier is pretty clear.

I think you have to imagine the player on all 32 teams and ask if theyāre still among the best. If theyāre team specific, they donāt rank as high for me.
