I want some of what you are smoking! Share brother!
Yeah, I definitely already had this in mind. Trying to figure out a way to incorporate intangibles into the data. It’s a little harder to do, but Brad/Dan are really big on “football guys” and leaders, so that definitely needs to be taken into consideration!

Part 3 will be coming soon-ish. The amount of data they have is insane on 300+ players, plus RAS scores…plus trying to formulate some sort of mathematical formula that ties it all together…
Probably the next week or two.
You good brotha I know it’s time consuming work you do. Can’t wait and I’m sure everyone else is looking forward to it.
Positional Value is huge with Brad Holmes too
Posting this one as a follow-up so the chart shows
This is why I want Jalen Carter and I hope he checks out good with DC and BH…
You and me both
A chart that has DT over OT in positional value needs correction.
It’s just straight salary I believe. The top 10 paid DTs at the moment make more than the top 10 paid LT and RT respectively. Though I suspect if you combined LT and RT into one position into just OT, that number would go up.
| Position | 25+ | 23+ | 21+ | 19+ | 17+ | 15+ | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| QB | 15 | 1 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | |
| WR | 5 | 4 | 0 | 5 | 3 | 4 | |
| Edge | 3 | 2 | 1 | 1 | 4 | 4 | |
| LT | 1 | 2 | 0 | 1 | 3 | 3 | |
| DT | 1 | 0 | 4 | 1 | 5 | 3 | |
| CB | 1 | 5 | 2 | 1 | |||
| RT | 3 | 4 | 1 | ||||
| ILB | 3 | 2 | 1 | ||||
| OG | 2 | 1 | 3 | ||||
| S | 1 | 2 | 3 | ||||
| TE | 1 | 1 | |||||
| RB | 2 | ||||||

I’d put RT over DT any day of the week and twice on Sundays, especially if he has LT ability.
In general I agree, though gimme the outliers at DT over pretty much any RT (Donald, Simmons, Quennin, etc…). Those guys are incredibly hard to find.
Donald is skewing DT.
Need to calculate medians for a better comparison.
I think he’s using top ten cause that’s how franchise tag salaries are formulated, though I could be wrong about that. It’s something along those lines. Of course another way to account for outliers is to take the top 12 and throw out the top and bottom salaries to arrive at ten.
That’s why I broke it down the way I did. So you could get a little clearer picture of where the money is being spent.
Dismissing the outlier at DT, top-of-market DTs are paid between 21 and 23 mil. LT is 23 and 25.
Also if qb is left handed (phins) RT is more important than LT
That makes sense.
Then take the median of the top 10. Which would be the average between the 5th and 6th highest.
He needs to hire you as an assistant.
We have not seen enough of Brad’s drafts to be able to at least have a idea.
I see so many saying trade back up that is just people coping what he did last draft.
We all wanted to keep the picks we had an even gather more an move down.
This draft people think we should move up i guess because he did it last draft.
Yet when we are at a pick fans not crazy about if Carter is off board at 6 now its move down.
I would not make a bet on Holmes in the draft either direction or when he might move.
I think if Carter is off the board by pick or choice of Lions I think he could take Spoon an be very happy with the pick. Not just for the season but future.
One thing is the draft will be interesting an maybe he looks at roster an thinks 5 picks a would make a great finish to the roster. He also thinks I would bet he can fill if needed now from late cuts of even a trade later in spring. He has the cap room an his roster is getting very deep an good.
