Who do you guys think is the best athlete in the city right now? The criteria of how you guys pick is really up to you. I’m just curious to see how this turns out.
P.S: Didn’t really know what to post this under since this will encompass all four major sports.
Best athlete, or best player? To me those are two different things.
Best Athlete is probably Sewell or Gibbs.
I voted Tarik Skubal as I think he may be one of the top pitchers in all of baseball soon.

“Best athlete” has to be either Sewell, Jamo, or maybe even Ron Holland.
I don’t know about Detroit sports outside of the Lions, but Penei is the best player and it’s not even close. I love Hutch and St Brown, but those guys are likely to top out as one of the best players at their position in their generation.
Sewell has legit all time potential. Like the best offensive lineman to ever play the game type of potential. He’s arguably already the best in the league and he turned 23 during the season last year. The kid is still developing.
Sewell is a future HOFer. Will go down as one of the all time greats if he stays healthy.

Skubal is the top Cy Young contender…the Lions have ALOT of great players, but as of today, it’s Tarik imo.
Sewell is going to be a first team All Pro and likely will be in the all decades 20s team.
