You probably won’t like this but……

Smart smart man.

I took over a FF league spot and had #1 pick (plus a shitty keeper)

I offered Jamar Chase for a bum +$100

Commissioner vetoed it . Stupid

Ended up having a loaded WR room when I scooped Michael Wilson & Keenan Allen . Had Q Johnston early. Had Bourne for his blowup weeks and then Chase & DK

Who would you like to play opposite Hutch?

Kendrick 2 sacks Faulk?

TRex Arms Cashius Howell?

Massive Regression TJ Parker?

Zion- I sucked prior to my breakout 2025 season with “6.5” sacks and the celebrated with a DUI right before a multi million dollar job interview?

  • I’m sorry but I think there is a good chance Wonnum has 7 sacks if he gets 800 snaps and I’d bet that no more than 1 of the above does.

Assume we punt on edge in round one…

Derrick Moore vs Mesidor

R Height vs C Howell

K Crawford vs Zion Young

Gabe Jacas vs TJ Parker

DDS vs K Faulk

It’s tough given Crawford and Moore didn’t test, if you compare stats, ratings and RAS scores of the others….. I’d say that outside of Faulk with his unique frame as a big DE, and Howell and Heights being tweeter edge guys more than DEs, how big is the difference waiting.

OT/CB (Fano, Proctor, Miller, McCoy, Ponds, Hood)

Edge (Jacas, DDS, Moore)

OT/CB (Bowry, JC Davis, Casey, Lee, Prysock, Everette)

DT (3Ts like Robinson, Barrett, Durant, Proctor)

Then get a RB and OL in 5, and DL and LB in 6

I think Faulk, Parker, and Howell all have better pass rush upside than Wonnum, and I understand than Faulk is also not really a pass rusher. To me, Faulk is the guy that’s going to come closest to making me and Brad/Dan both happy with the guy they have in that spot.

And I don’t see Gabe Jacas, Zion Young, or any other 2nd round guy as the answer. I like DDS but he’s likely not the answer long term opposite Hutchinson.

Also, about Wonnum, I frankly don’t care how many sacks he has. I care about the consistency with which he generates pressure. AQM had ~11 sacks and a solid pressure rate, and we were still dead last in average time to throw and average time to pressure. We need to improve in those metrics, which means we need an improvement over the average time to pressure our DL had last year.

If D.J. Wonnum is somehow the guy who fixes all of that, I would be stunned.

You know something else we need? If and when Tyleik Williams comes off the field on passing downs, because I don’t think he should be on the field for ALL passing downs, who comes in to replace him?

Put Barnes there and let Golday rush from
the SAM spot

He’s like 15 months out on an ACL and it sounds like the stability/lateral movement still isn’t there with his knee. I liked the McCoy pre injury, but is that what were getting? Hell even big old McNeill came back after a year.

Barnes has shown almost nothing as a pass rusher.

We still got Levi O 3 Tech
Bounce back year ?
On a 1 year deal

Levi is the “We have ______ at home” of pass rushing defensive tackles.

Why? What is the question?

trade down and take both clemson guys…parker and miller.

the first four bounce back years haven’t worked. Levi’s a guy like that clemson guy we took who hung around for four years and did nothing, he’s still playing but not for the lions.

Who is University of Michigan Moore, 3rd round pick for Detroit Lions in a trade up ala Cliff Avril? Not Sherron Moore

Yeah, that’s a pretty crazy statement by @HSVLion.
Jacas and Zion look to be like they could be really good NFL players imo.

Then why aren’t they projected to go in the 1st round?

We took Levi and Paschal in the 2nd round. Excuse me if I have some PTSD.

There is supposedly some smoke on Jacas and Lawrence being threats for the first round.

But to answer your question that is because they have flaws. That is why I asked what the question was. Do they have it in them to be reliable 10+ sack guys opposite of Hutch? Then the answer is probably not. But I don’t think that is the right question to ask.

Why? We can hate all we want; This is what is going to happen.
