For example I am looking at Safety Julian Blackmon with the Colts. 26 years old. Signed a 1 year deal in 2024. Former 3rd Rd. pick. Guy can cover but tackling is an issue.
Looks like a depth player going forward at this stage of his career. Would his price come down to roughly $3 million/minimum? Maybe. Would replace Iffy for less $.
If the Lions simply run it back, they’ve still got one of the top rosters in the NFL and an open window for the foreseeable future. Not a bad place to be.
Were not even were it’s running it back. But ok
And some good teams got better, were not one, we have alot to do just to get where we were.
Next your gonna go with the ole line FAs has just started, but it’s not about time , it’s about availability. Players have got real thin at positions we need.
Graham can be a + RG. He’s much better there than he is on the left side. Moving Graham back to RG and sliding Mahogany into LG isn’t the worst option. I just don’t think you can have Graham as a LG, at all, ever. Even if you bring back Zeitler, having Graham as a LG is a liability.
Patrick was good, but we’re also talking about a guy who wasn’t even on the roster until August. There are plenty of WR who can come in and be serviceable #3s, which is why I thought all the bellowing about losing Reynolds last season was a bit overblown.
Levi is talented, but he’s still just a rotational guy. Granted, we’ve seen how important depth is, so would love to have him back, but if he’s not…idk, I don’t think it costs the Lions games. Would like to see him back though.
All that said, we’re not even 24 hours into free agency. Have to see how it all shakes out, and even then, we still have the draft ahead of us.
If they do then it can be running it back. But as of now we’re down a few starters , I’m disappointed in Brad because we’re not getting guys because of unfair deals were not getting them because of a money ball approach. Im not a all in guy or big spender guy. But it’s always been fill needs with guys so you don’t go into the draft needing 4 or 5 starters.
Zeitler and Lions may have a deal in place but Zeitler may not want to sign till training camp so he doesn’t have to go though all the offseason stuff.
Lol that’s just a old cliche, it’s not about time it’s about player availability and check that, one Question if you don’t resign Levi who you having replace him ? Levi and Calias Campbell are the only 2 left that have a positive grade in both run and pass. I’m it’s not matter of time Lol, it’s who left that can help you improve and not go backwards.
Hmmm. I don’t think that’s the Lions way. Also, I think he signs somewhere very soon just to get it done. Why would he wait until after the draft when jobs are being taken by rookies?
Because he older vet alot of them guys wait. He sure doesn’t want to go to all the OTAs and stuff and he really don’t need that stuff. I might not be that.
I agree I’m just thinking with the lack of activity for him seems maybe they have something in place. And just waiting. Definitely just a thought with no substance.
