Okay, so add Brock Bowers to my man crush list. This is an obvious one, but literally nobody has claimed him yet. But man is he a good football player. He’s one of those guys that just jumps off the television when you are watching a game live.
Do yall think Bowers and Laporta could co-exist somehow? (we would have to trade up I know he isn’t not falling to 29, but maybe 15-18?)

Bowers does a lot of WR/RB/FB type of stuff too. I think its a pipe dream and very unlikely to happen, because IMO he is a top 3ish player in this class. But it would be fun to watch Dan and Ben cook with those two St Brown and Gibbs. Especially if it turns out he can play sort of an X role in the passing game.

@CuriousHusker and I have been talking about that for awhile over on the draft thread. Bowers would be a perfect addition in a TE/RB/FB/WR role. There was another thread asking for an off the wall take, and mine was a trade-up for Bowers. I love the idea. Sure you’ll have issues in 3 or 4 years but deal with it then.

Oh my bad, I was all caught up in the draft thread, but so much has transpired I might have overlooked it or forgotten. I just happen to be watching a Georgia game looking at some prospects and it brought back to me how insanely good he is.
Ha, no worries. That thread is a beast.
My Mason Pline has got me caught up in thinking about the WR/TE roster makeup. I think we’ve all assumed it’s 6 and 3 but we seemingly like Zylstra who is your quintessential Joker TE. Pline is a higher end version of that type. We’d still need an inline guy if Wright moves on.
Right it does make it less likely we add a Bowers, Bell or Holker type, which is too bad as I think that could really open up the offense.
That said if you’re wanting to sign a TE off the street, an inline guy is the best bet. We could bring in Mercedes Lewis maybe, he’s supposed to be a great teammate and I know he’s a great blocker. Old af but it’s only a one-year deal.
That wouldn’t be a bad idea. If you can get him at 1.3m or whatever that savings plus the Reynolds money could be repurposed for depth elsewhere.
I feel increasingly confident that Brad is going to try and move back. I just think more bullets for cheap depth both best fits our near term needs and our incoming salary crunch (assuming we hit on enough of the later picks).
And again one of OL, CB or WR should have a legitimate first round talent in the late 30s.
Takes two to tango of course. Chatter about the other QBs seems to be improving as well which helps.

I have to add another crush. I’ve mostly kinda avoided watching the small slot-only receiver types since I’d be very surprised if we added one overall. But just because I don’t think we’ll draft 'em doesn’t mean I can’t love 'em, and man Malik Washington is gonna be a stud for someone.
In fact I wouldn’t be surprised if he goes much higher than he’s being mocked. If Wan’Dale Robinson can almost go in the 1st, I don’t see why Washington can’t surprise as well. I actually like him better than Robinson as a prospect.
