2024 Draft

I know he hasn’t played Guard, but does anyone have any thoughts on Sedrick Van Pran potentially having Guard flexibility? He’s seems to have the profile for it. Kind of that Glasgow type where you can move him where you need him type.

Also thoughts on Nelson Ceaser. Houston almost always lined him up on the strong side, but he should be playing that Harris/R. Okwara role. Has a nice burst and spin move. Seems like a potential mid round pick.

Because despite it, they still need to be talented players. They can’t only be grabbers, otherwise they’ll get smoked anyway. They have to understand how to use their length to their advantage.

This can be seen in the relative paucity of guys who thrive playing this style. Sauce, Porter, Davis and Dean in TB, Diggs, Charvarius Ward, Sneed, Adebo, Talib got away with plenty of grabbing in his day, etc… It’s still a skill, even if it’s against the rules.

I know @BubbaBaker-60 likes him as a guard, in fact we were just talking about him last night. Post 3186 (this thing’s gonna be a monster).

Awesome! So it confirms what I’ve been seeing as well. Love to see Fraley get his hands on him.

Tough one to figure out. Sometimes you watch him and you think he can hold up on the end (as you said he played on the strong side), other times it looks like he can’t hold the edge to save his life. It seems like he should be strong enough, so I’m not sure what gives exactly. Maybe it’s his lower body, it’ll be interesting to see how he tests on the jumps.

Yeah I noticed this. Sometimes he’d hold the edge well and then sometimes he’d get blown up. Very inconsistent. Yeah not sure what to make of him since I do like some of his pass rush skills.

So let’s talk about Jarvis Brownlee. True he’s a smaller corner, but I do think he has the potential to play on the boundary. What are your guy’s thoughts on him and would you spend a 2nd round pick on him? Really impressed with him at the SB.

I have a feeling we’re going to miss out on corner in the 1st round(my Quinyon Mitchell dreams got blown up at the Senior Bowl)

Ill be honest this mock draft from pick 1 alone is hilarious to me

Brownlee’s an easy guy to like for sure. Eye-opening performance at the Senior Bowl. My worry with him - as you mentioned - is whether he can hold up outside or not. There’s a good chance he might be slot only, which would hurt both his stock overall and his relevance for us specifically. If he was a little thicker like Jaire I’d be more comfortable with it personally, but it’s up to Brad to sort out.

Very sticky cover guy though. Has the right play attitude for a corner too imo.

Check out Renardo Green and Jarius Monroe. Those are two corners I have rated much higher than the sims right now. Both from the Shrine Bowl (where we drafted 3 guys last year).

Yeah Renardo is guy I’m very interested in. Pretty sure he’s almost a 2nd round lock unless he tests poorly of course

“You’ve replied to @Thats2 3 times, did you know you could send them a personal message instead?” ■■■■ off, AI. Imma gonna do it again.

At the moment, my dream draft would include Brad finagling those 3 CBs in the 3rd or 4th rounds and sort them out later. (Can a group of 3 be a draft crush?) I know your top 50 ranking has both Green and Monroe in it, but it think there’s too much talent in other positions and depth at CB to push them into the 2nd round.

This doesn’t necessarily have to lead to a historical discussion of my draft predictions. :sunglasses: :sunglasses: :sunglasses:

Ha, yeah, go away AI. I never listen to it either.

And yeah, I would be very surprised if Green or Monroe goes as high as I have them. If I had to guess I’d put Green around the end of the 2nd and Monroe somewhere in the 3rd, but of course there’s still a ton of info to collect before then.

But I do a lot of mocks where I pass on CB early and hammer it in the 3rd on, for sure.

If we can somehow get Green at the end of round 2 I will be overjoyed to put it mildly

I would prefer to have starters lined up at both CB and OG so that we have the flexibility to wait if the board falls that way.

2024 NFL draft: What Campus Martius, Hart Plaza will look like

Get Ready Denmates!!!..Who’s going???

So Ryan Wilson leads a rotating pick mock draft and at 29 we have the choice between Kool-Aid and Amarius Mims. Um, thank you, Football Gods. I know what I would do and it’s not what they chose for us. It’s pinned at the Lions choice. Oops, it’s pinned after they picked…

Amarius Mims 100/100
