Aiden Hutchinson

Please don’t presume to tell me what I do or don’t realize. I fully understand the season sauce is having. I watched Charles Woodson do the same thing. You and I simply see things in our own way and have a difference of opinion. Doesn’t mean we’re right or wrong. They’re both great players and we can leave it at that.

Lol.

Clearly you don’t. Bc if he is having a similar season to an all time great HOF, DMVP, SB winning Corner then you have made my point for me.

You just made my point for me. Hutchinson is having a season that only a hall of fame, all time great, super bowl winning player has done before. Clearly you don’t understand either it seems.

A rookie cb not giving up a single TD. And 27 catches against is probably the best in the nfl , Hutchinson doesn’t lead his team in sacks. People aren’t saying Hutchinson doesn’t deserve it, but what sauce is doing is unreal. Like ive said its hard to learn real fast as a cb in the nfl on the defense side of the ball, and he has. People really should talk about Houston more then Hutchinson to be honest

Hutch is impressive, his status and accomplishments are amazing. I am aware of the rare air he is breathing. Playing corner at sauce’s level is more impressive. That was the point. That has always been the point. I’m fully aware of what you are saying and trying to insist on……….you are just wrong.

It’s the hardest position in football to master as a rookie. Slay got benched as a rookie. He has been facing diggs and locking him down for Christ sakes. If hutch had more sacks and the overall defense was better sure……I still would prefer hutch career wise……but c’mon……dude has it on lock…literally.

Yeah, plus a top defense, compare to a bottom defense. Reason lions ate winning its because of the offense. Yes defense was good today, but if people could see why it was, it could’ve been really bad. Fields got hurt, dude had 104 rushing yards in 1st quarter

I love hutch.

The 3 ints and 7.5 sack combo only happening once is kind of a manufacture stat?

How many guys have had 5 ints and 5 sacks or 9.5 sacks and 1 int?

I bet the list of players who have 7 or more rushing AND 7 or more receiving TDs is short too. But lots of guys have had more than 15 combined.

Hutch is having the most well rounded rookie year for sure.

Houston is having a better pass rushing season. Woolen is having a better int causing season.
Jalen Pitre has 139 tackles, 5 ints and a sack with 7 passes defenses

Some really good rookie production this year, and Hutch is right up there with them…. His 16 passes defended vs 27 catches allowed with the 2 picks is ABSURD! When a guy allows 300 yards and ZERO tds against him in a full season, what else can he do

If Hutch has 12-13 sacks, then I think he’d be a shoe in……

And this is where you and I disagree. The reason I find what Hutchinson is doing is as impressive as sauce is because of how he’s doing it. He’s being asked to move all around the defense to different positions, with different elements and play them at a high level. He’s playing left and right defensive end, defensive tackle and some outside linebacker elements. Including dropping into coverage in space. That’s not the same thing as being lined up in the same position and told to do what you do best. It’s just my opinion having played those positions.

Sauce is great but let’s be honest he’s getting much more hype because he’s in NY.

Nothing Sauce has done hasn’t been done before. Heck in recent years we’ve had rookies come out make the probowl and been declared the best in the game. Patrick Peterson, Jalen Ramsey and Denzel Ward all come to mind.

What Hutch is doing is far rarer than what Sauce has done.

You have to credit Hutch with some of Houstons sacks. One if not 2 today Houston got because of what Hutch did, i think Hutch also forced a sack to Paschal as well. Hutch is definitely in the running, you can make a legit argument either way. Hutch’s impact is more than just his sacks, it’s also pressure, hits, TFLs, his eating so many doubles, and still forcing early throws or helping create sacks for others, his relentless hustle leading to 2 FR, or sniffing out a screen and forcing a pick 6.

Sauce has been great as well, but sorry when you resort to 32 ranked D knowing full well they’ve been much better than that during this 7-2 stretch or claiming Houston should be above him shows your not paying attention to all he does, or your State bias is in full force

Sorry Lyon, wasn’t directed toward you

But 3 sack game you have to credit to the other players for hutch getting the sacks.

Yes I think this is much more of a discussion rather than a debate / argument than we realize. I don’t think a single person in this topic having this conversation is actually disagreeing with your statement. This is definitely an “on the fence” topic. It’s very, very close.

I think it’s close. That’s why I started the thread.

This isn’t accurate.

Hutch has had the impact you described. I do think he makes Houston’s life easier. But this defense is ass. And is deserving of the 32 ranking. That matters. There is a reason players make mvp’s and pro bowls on WINNING teams. It’s a lot harder to say hutch has had an impact on this defense when it’s ranked 32. Let’s not forget they gave up 400 yards rushing last week and they gave up 100 yards rushing in quarter 1 to fields today. Is he deserving yes……is sauce more impressive….yes. And it’s too bad bc it would be cool to have the DROY.

You realuze those stunts were schemed and yes, everyone had to execute, including Hutch. It wasn’t Houston forcing Heinike to Hutch or Paschal.

Hutch was the best player on the day as he has been, most of the yr.

But two of those sacks were because of his teammates getting to the qb. And he being in the right spot. Plus Houston has played 6 games.

Sorry, uour reaching to make a point. Do we just ignore that AP was fired, that they allowed Hutch to stand up, and again they aren’t 32 ranked in this 7-2 stretch.

And that’s why me and the buddy have the bet. It really is THAT close. I think next week will be interesting to watch. Hutch is obviously playing for their playoff lives. But the Jets are eliminated.

I doubt very much that Sauce just doesn’t give a shit, but it happens. However, more importantly they play Miami and they have a chance to spoil a division rivals playoff hopes.

Curious to see how they both play.

LOL, because he wasn’t ready to start, he was actually cut. If he had earned the spot he wouldn’t have been cut, and he’d have played before Thanksgiving. He has been a flamethrower on limited snaps as a rusher. That’s why he’s had limited snaps
