Thats good coaching lions were still the same turtle trying to push out polished turd.
Yet the Lions won and the coaches had them in position to do it. It didnt look great for sure but i suppose i missed where the nfl cared about anything more than your record and health.
.
Gibbs ran for 5.4 ypc todayā¦. as THE BELL COW.
His career average is 5.3 ypcā¦. and was 5.4 with 2 years of Ben Johnson as his OC and Frank Ragnow at Center.
Have we thought about calling Ben again? Do you really think heās having much fun scoring 59 points? Sounds boring. Come back
Well see how Detroit does against that Carolina defense in 3 weeks ![]()
Next week is a test. You want to contend play vs super bowl contender.
What did you learn that you didnāt know before yesterday?
Are you kidding? A shit ton.
Lions are winning in Buffalo. Calling it now. 2-0.
And Iāll still win my UNDER bet, unfortunately.
This team looked just like last yearās team with Morton as the OC.
Thatās probably the biggest observation I can make. It had the feel of the same team as last year. Not better and not worse.
How about your top 3 revalations?
So let me get this straight. Offense looks the same as last year. We had Morton⦠Dan⦠now Petzing as OC.
Last year, the OL had Decker-Mahogany-Glasgow-Ratledge-Penei. This year, we replace Decker, Glasgow and probably Mahogany. Our OL had struggles? In week 1? You mean an OL that is starting a pure rookie RT, and guys who werenāt on the team last year didnāt come out looking like 5 year vets?
Iām shocked I tell you.
Shep is awful- needs to be fired. No more excuses.
The offense was still pretty good at times. Gibbs ran very well. If Jamo could catch we probably score 40. I canāt blame the OC for dropped passes.
Pass rush was miles better than it was last year. We were getting pressure from everywhere. The defense was playing outstanding, and had Shough completely rattled, until the offense got cute trying to feature Jamo who completely stalled the offense. That OT catch saved his game from being an absolute collapse.
The Lions got a lot of work to do, and when you play as a pressure defense, this is what happens. You get home, you win, you donāt, you give up big plays. People hate the death by a thousand paper cuts defense just as much.
The problem is if we play Gibbs like we did today we wonāt get any production from him after Week 12 because weāll have run him into the ground.
Nothing has changed in terms of philosophy. The defense is worst than last season and we still canāt run the ball. We need a big back
I completely agree with that.
We ran for 170 yards and multiple touchdowns.
No way New Orleans should have been in the game. Those rushing yards should have killed most of the clock.
