Brad is a genius until you don't think he is?

I think AA is the pick at 34, if not

Prolly feeling Brooks at 55, cause hes a Lions guy i think, and he aint gonna be in the 5th, unless we trade down

OCyrus Torrence & Adebawore

That should be a good pendulum draft today because I feel like all the posters who are against Torrence because of “position flexibility and scheme fit” are all for Adebawore.

That would be intersting.

FYI - Charlie Campbell had us getting DEXTER DT and BENTON DT Day 2

He’s got baby arms too…kinda worried that removes him from the convo.

For some of us the issue is with the trade down not the player. Give me Robinson, Jack and our 3rd all day VS Gibbs, Jack and a 2nd.

It’s not that I think Gibbs is a bad player, I just think Robinson was the best talent/character combination in the draft.

I believe Campbell got cute with the trade down and got burned. It happens but I am not going to pretend to be happy about it.

Like him.

Seems like a faster, slightly bigger, version of Paschal.

Keion White seems like a faster, more athletic, version of Comminsky.

I’d be happy with either addition to the defensive line.

You know, just be open to the possibility that Brad may have somebody else in mind.
He probably does.

Mankins helped the Patriots win their Super Bowls.

The jury is still out on Cole Strange, but he did start 17 games last season.

Lol Gibbs is wayyyyyy more than a 3rd down back!

Gonna be a monster in this offense!

Bingo. Well said.

The only “complaint” i have is that I’d of preferred to see the lions land “more important” positions with 2 top 20 selections, like OT, DT, DE, WR or CB.

That only works in a utopian situation where the available talent lines up that way though. If the lions had better grades on a 3rd down back and an off the ball LB at the same position as a guy they just locked up for 3 years then so be it. It’s still the right thing to do imo - to take the players you love regardless of all that noise.

It all comes down to waiting for these guys to play. If they are stars on the field none of this matters in a year.

Exactly. No one is saying Gibbs sucks at football … it’s just a weird pick at a low value position, that we already have depth.

Undersized, speed RB’s are often found late in the draft. It’s how it’s been for a long time.

It’s fair for people to question the thought process on this pick. It really is.

It’s great that Ben Johnson has a second scat back option. But c’mon, 12oa, when we had one of the worst D-lines in the league last year?

So you’re fine leaving him in to pick up blitzes?

There were maybe 4 pick oddities in the first round and Holmes contributed to 2 o f them.

The Jets pick of Will McDonald
The dropping of Will Levis
And 2 perceived reaches by Holmes

Outside of that, what did these so called fake GMs, draft pundits, player evaluators, player projectors get all that wrong?

Adebawore- 9.84 RAS with 17.5 TFL with 9.5 sacks and 4 FF over the last 2 years… CAPTAIN

Sam Laporta- 9.10 RAS with impressive stats given how shitty his QB was… CAPTAIN

Steve Avila- 8.6 RAS…no sacks at LG… played C, RT as well… CAPTAIN

lets just say that it happens…

Then in round 5-
152. Corey Trice- 9.43 RAS
159. Chanler Zavala- 9.95 RAS
167. Aiden O’Connell-

  1. Jadon Haselwood- 8.24 RAS
  2. C Ryland

I’m not sure people are aware of this. No GM hits on every draft pick. It’s true. Even if they hit on half they are well above average. These guys haven’t even sniffed an NFL game yet and everybody wants to sour on things.

The Lions were the hands down favorite to win the North at 7:59 EST yesterday, and ask yourself if that changed by adding 2 dynamic players. In one night we added a weapon to our offense, and defense to a team already favored to have a good year. Seems like you are mostly mad the Lions didn’t read your posts and do what you thought was best.

Lions have a more talented roster today than they had at this time yesterday. That is a win.

then go sign Marcus Peters…

Would anyone be worried about…

Cam Sutton
Marcus Peters
E Moseley
J Jacobs
C Trice
W Harris

CJGJ
K Joseph
T Walker
Iffy

seriously… we would have a top 5-7 secondary!!!

If this guys are available and they take them, this draft is a win. I think these guys are both gone by the 4th round, but this draft is kinda weird, so who knows

What about

Adebawore/Levi

McNeill/Buggs/B Jones

You really can’t get a more explosive or dynamic 3T

I think medical will drop Voorhees and Zavala, but with the depth we have and Avila or Torrence in 2, we can afford the risk… I wouldn’t mind flipping Swift for a 4th and taking Trice frankly… then use that 5th for Ronnie Bell or Charlie Jones, and instead of Haselwood… get a project edge like Ramirez or C Murphy?
