Best did not play a full season in 2011 and pretty much never made it back. They did not use the pass to substitute the run game. That is not a good notion at all
In 2020 things went sideways obviously with Goff and McVey. If you just want to blame Goff that’s fine,
but it seems like there was probably more going on.
Stafford is doing great so far but he has also enjoyed a healthy team and not a lot of great defenses so far
And what is it now? I feel like you re arguing against yourself here.
My take - Gurly goes down - everything collapses for Goff.
Insert Stafford, same players can run more efficiently as the pass helps to set up the run, and vice versa.
I’m not aware of the extent of WR injuries last year? Was that a factor? Truth somewhere in the middle? or nah, we can all pretend the world is black and white, and our guy is a hero, while the other guy sucks.
LOL - Love that answer. Good to see people having a sense of humor and not taking things too seriously.
Sometimes hard to get a read on folks through text.
It’s pretty simple really. 2019 is the year things fell apart for Goff. The players were neither the same nor are they players Stafford has now
2020 Goff started strong but then McVey started changing the offense, and Goff wasn’t the best fit. I don’t blame McVey for wanting to replace a fifth year QB for a 12 year vet if every other piece is in place. If it were 2013 Stafford turnover machine and the Lions were right there, I’d want to trade for a solid vet for a SB run as well
Let us not forget - Stafford is FAR more handsome than Goff.
IMO, there’s a big difference between Matt’s upside and Goff’s. Definitely depends on team circumstances, etc. Some things we will never know, especially in the case of apples and oranges comparisons.
